These puff pastry samosa dumplings are a tasty take on traditional samosas. They are crispy on the outside and filled with a spicy potato and pea mix on the inside. Great for a snack or as an appetizer!
Ingredients: 1 sheet of puff pastry. 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes. 1/2 cup boiled green peas. 1/4 cup finely chopped onions. 2 cloves of garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon ginger paste. 1 green chili, finely chopped adjust to taste. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds. 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder. 1 teaspoon garam masala. 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder. Salt to taste. 2 tablespoons oil. Oil for frying.
Instructions: Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Allow them to splutter. Add minced garlic, ginger paste, and green chili. Saut for a minute. Add finely chopped onions and saut until they turn translucent. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well. Add mashed potatoes and boiled green peas. Stir to combine. Add garam masala and cook the filling mixture for a few minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool. Preheat your oven to 375F 190C. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into squares or rectangles. Place a spoonful of the potato filling in the center of each pastry square. Fold the pastry over to create a triangle or rectangle shape. Seal the edges with a fork. Place the samosa dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with a little oil for a golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your homemade puff pastry samosa dumplings!
