And every year it's the same, Mei is the judge of Kisame's t-shirt fashion and his expression of appreciation to Samehada.

Kakuzu: Brat? Are you ready to leave? I want to get an early start, before — oh. 

Itachi: Good morning, Kakuzu-san. If you don’t mind, I’m going to be taking Hidan’s place on your mission today.

Kakuzu: Why would I mind? You’ve just spared me a three hour long lecture on “Lord Jashin”, not to mention the endless begging to stop for food along the way. 

Itachi: *chuckles* Don’t worry, I’ve packed us a lunch. Shall we go?

*the two leave the hideout and start walking*

Kakuzu: So where is my unholy demon of a partner? Let me guess; he and Deidara are off creating a lot of unnecessary damage and chaos to some unsuspecting village?

Itachi: No, nothing like that. He just wanted to be with Kisame today.

Kakuzu: … Kisame? Why?

Itachi: *shrugs* I’m not sure, but I suspect it’s because Kisame told him he’s on his way to the Hidden Mist to recover a lost sword from one of his fellow swordsman of the Mist. Supposed to be a beautiful one, from the way Kisame tells it. You know those two share a strong love for weapons, and —

*Itachi looks over but Kakuzu has disappeared*

Itachi: …

*later, somewhere in the Mist*

Kisame, holding Zabuzu’s executioner blade: Isn’t it gorgeous? Such superior craftsmanship, such a precise blade. This will make an excellent companion for Samehada!

Hidan: I gotta say, Shark-Dick, this thing IS awesome. I wish I could have a new —

*Kakuzu appears out of nowhere, grabbing Hidan by the arms*

Kakuzu, seething: You goddamned brat … you took off on me to look at another man’s weapon?? You’re MINE, Hidan!! The only “sword” you will be admiring is MINE. Do I make myself clear??
