Prompt: After getting to know why your boyfriend dislikes Halloween, you're determined to make him forget all about it.
Warnings: Implied smut, fluff (sorta)
A/n: There is an Office reference in this fic since that's the only other show I watch other than Supernatural.
So I gave this fic idea to @holylulusworld as an ask for her Kinktober list and kinda ended up writing a version myself. So be sure to check out her's too right here.

âHey, letâs go home.â
âWhat?â
âWeâve been out here for half an hour.â
"You really don't like Halloween, do you?" You ask, momentarily looking away from the joyful crowds of children in various and creative costumes as they skipped from house to house, their candies in their bags rustling with each step.
The taller Winchester sighs beside you. "You already know why I don't like Halloween."
"But it was over something stupid!" You say, and smile, removing your hand from his and wrapping it around his arm. "We're out here creating new memories. Come on!"
He looks at you with a smile ghosting his face, his eyes roaming your costume of brown slacks, a tan shirt with a brown tie and fake glasses perched on your nose. "You really went all out with you costume, right?"
"Dwight K. Schrute," you smile and speak in almost bored tone to match your favourite character's voice. "Assistant regional manager."
You look at Sam expectantly and he sighs. "To the, you mean."
You chuckle and continue walking, the orange and purple lights decorating the subarban houses lightening up your mood. âAnd, I didnât go all out. Just bought these online. Wasnât that hard to find.â
The two of you had been walking in the neighborhood for the past hour, not trick-or-treating (even if you wanted to, you doubted people would hand you candy) but just walking and looking at the decorations put up. The children laughing everywhere and everyone just being happy really brought your spirits up.
âAtleast I wore a costume,â you say and look at Sam with a smirk. He was obviously donning one of his flannels and his jeans.
âWe wear costumes everyday,â Sam chuckles, guiding your hands around his torso so he could wrap his arm around your shoulders.
After walking together in a comfortable silence for another five minutes, you look down at your watch. "Hey, I think we should head back."
"Wait, seriously?â
âYeah, I mean, youâre right. Anyways, we should probably check on the guys-â you look down at your watch again, forgetting the time- âHow many movies do you think theyâre done with?â
âI donât know. Four, probably.â
You tilt your head slightly to agree with Sam. While you and your boyfriend were busy making cookies and brownies with cool Halloween design frostings, Dean was ready to binge watch all the Halloween classics. Cas and Jack had joined him- the nephilim was curious and wanted to see the movies and the angel was happy spending time with them.
You and Sam had joined them for one movie, you quickly dragging Sam off for him to join you in your walk around the neighborhood.
"You sure you want to leave? I can stop with the complaining-"
You fake a yawn, and shake your head, pouting slightly as you look at him. "No, I'm just tired." You peck his lips. "Let's go home."
~~
You werenât tired. Ever since you had heard why Sam didnât like Halloween, you felt like it was your job to somehow turn that around and with an entire day that felt quite magical already, you were ready to spice it up slightly. Sam was already one to not want to make a big deal of things but having dated for about a year and the relationship going really great, you knew you owed it to him.
Looking at the fitted red dress that you were wearing, you sigh slightly. It was the only costume left in the local supermarket (well not the only one but the others were way too inappropriate) and was expensive. But now looking at yourself in the mirror and feeling the fabric- it was sure worth it. But it wasn't a complete costume without the red horns that were on your bed. It was way too inappropriate to be dressed as the Devil so you chose to not wear the headband.
Checking yourself out in the mirror and making final touches to your makeup, you nod your head and turn around to find your sandals.
Just then, someone knocks on your door and you turn, stopping mid-stride.
"Y/n?"
Sam? Shit, you were going to surprise him in his room.
You stayed in his room most nights and most of your stuff was there- you only came here for alone time or to grab something else.
You had given him an excuse that you would get changed into a hoodie you had left behind and meet him to watch a movie together. You had a speech prepared and you had the surprise entirely planned out.
"Y/n?" Sam asks again and the handle twists.
"I'm here, I'm here! Don't open the door!" You exclaim without thinking and look around the room. You spot your red heels at the foot of your bed and you quickly jog to them and put them on. If Sam was already here, you ought to be completely ready.
"Are you fine? What's wrong?" He asks, his voice laced in worry but thankfully the door doesn't open.
"Nothing's wrong," you huff, blowing your hair out of your face. "I just-" you turn to clean your bed "-wasn't ready." Quickly pushing the horns and other clothes into your bedside drawer, you jump onto the bed and try your best to lay in a sexy pose, though with your deep breathes and slightly messed up hair, you were already convinced you had messed things up.
You were lying down on your elbows, your body angled towards the door. One of your legs was hanging off and the other was precariously on the bed, showing off the strappy red heels you'd put on. "Okay," you say, trying to slow down your breathing, "you can come in now."
The door pushes open and Sam walks in wearing a suit. His jaw immediately falls open when he sees you on the bed.
"Y/n-"
"Why are you wearing a suit?" You ask, frowning a bit. Sam takes a step forward, his eyes raking your form before he opens his mouth and closes it. He looks in the hallway before shutting the door, his bewildered expression not wearing off.
"I-" he starts off and shuts his eyes, shaking his head "-I thought we were going to watch one movie."
"No, I wanted to surprise you!" You chuckle, your nerves seriously not helping. Was he angry or something? You really didn't plan for this. "Get your mind off your humiliation," you add in, chuckling nervously.
"Oh," he whispers softly and stands there for a moment before pulling his suit jacket off hurriedly, struggling a bit and walking to the bed quickly.
You chuckle as he struggles to remove his tie and climbs over you, pressing his lips onto yours.
"Sam-" you giggle between the kisses he was showering you with. "What- why are you in a suit?"
The Winchester draws back and looks down at you, his lips already kiss-swollen. "I tried to dress up like Michael," he whispers, his breath fanning over your face.
"Scott?" You ask, a smile creeping onto your face.
"Yeah. The Michael to your Dwight."
"You're supposed to be my Angela."
"Well, I wasn't going to put on a skirt."
"You could have been beets. Or-" you're cut off with another kiss.
"You're gonna start rambling again," Sam whispers again and you feel the blood rushing to your cheeks.
"Sorry," you chuckle and look into Sam's eyes. Your breath catches slightly when you notice his blown out pupils. "You like this dress, huh?"
Sam pecks your lip before speaking in a dangerously low voice. "Well, if wanting to tear it off your body counts as liking the dress then sure."
You chuckle and cup his cheeks, smiling softly at him. "You look good in a suit."
He kisses you again, harder than before and you sigh slightly. He takes it as an opportunity to slip his tongue into your mouth to deepen the kiss.
You wrap your arms around his neck, trying to pull him closer as his hands grip your waist in a bruising hold.
You smile into the kiss. You were definitely going to make new memories tonight.
The Wrecking Ball Formally Known As Sam Winchester
Sam has The Look.
You've seen variations a few times now, whenever you suffer a bump or hit on a heckle-raising hunt with the intrepid Winchester boys.
At first, The Look is Fear, that maybe your pain is caused by a yet undiscovered serious trauma. Assessing the damage, Sam trains multicoloured eyes over every last inch of your skin he can see.
Fear then morphs into less frantic Concern, as a Confidence sets like concrete in his chest on discovering that this time around, there's no real danger. So, his brow knots together with familiar frown lines, jaw clenching tightly. He's now satisfied and decides: Uh-huh, yes. You're Okay.
Relief settles in by the fire in his eyes, before he's stoking at rising Guilt as he remembers, your pain is still there, still hurting - still real - however minor the harm.
The Look is then loud, shouting out Sam's inner yearnings to Make It All Stop-- no more danger!
Until Recognition lands, solid and heavy at the reluctant yet resolute knowledge: he can't simply wish want into being.
Yeah, The Look.
All those emotions in a singular moment, spreading over his features like wildfire for all and sundry to see. Because he couldn't possibly hide it-- he wouldn't know how. This isn't Poker, it's Protection; Sam Winchester's inherent core instinct.
But The Look? Today it's somehow divergent. It's laced with something . . .
More.
There's now something quietly Fierce behind those unique sunflower eyes. Something's been waiting, holding back. Something . . .
Raw.
And you see it-- so right here, right now. And not just in his golden-blue-browns but somehow flashing in bright coloured neon all over his goliath-like body.
That Look has been torched and the now white-hot flames are licking and growing with . . .
Hunger.
You almost hadn't noticed his sizable hands holding each side of your face.
There's no room for shyness with physical contact when hunting - there's always someone's skilled fingers scanning for bone-breaks, running over marked skin, searching out cuts - but there's something in the way Sam's laying hands on you now. It's distinctive, different. It's . . .
New.
Just like That Look, his usual protective touch is now modified, changed. Carrying something even more Tender yet Strong; something Commanding yet Gentle; and - in some inexplicable way - something even more Caring and . . .
Urgent.
Sam's clutching your face now, gently tilting your head towards his. He's breathing in deep, his broad chest expanding, the New Look intense, fixed solely on you . . .
And Holy fucking shit! It's paralyzing.
The foreign New Look is now burrowing under your skin. Ice-tendrils splintering, climbing your spine yet pulsing heat burning through to your centre. Your stomach's flip-flopping, you're blinking too much and . . .
He's so very close now, you're struggling to focus, seeing nothing and no one but . . .
Sam.
Then you're breathing deep too and the crisp scents that fill you, leave your senses drunk-ass and longing:
Looking up through fanned lashes, confused eyes meet his gaze. Your face now lives here, in this monumental New Look:Â a terrifying yet breathtaking Scrutiny. And your instincts track a thread, honest and truthful, loaded-thick with a sort of Desire? But it's something else too, something frantic and Desperate.
Yeah, there's a wish-- no, a pure Need for something . . .
And when you're each breathing the other's hot breath; you hear Sam's heart thrum a new quick-time, syncing and matching your own; there's only an inch between your dropped-open mouth and his wetted, parted pink lips; your eyes are blown wide, round as Dean's Baby's wheels; your whole body squirming, silently screaming under the steady tirade of this unforgiving and crucifying New Look . . .
Then finally - FINALLY - it hits you. Like a godamn Wrecking Ball.
Sam. Wants. You.
End
This was for a Sammy-loving friend, not on Tumblr. But maybe there's Sam fans here who'll likey. . .
Mistakes are mine, let me know what you think. If you want to be added to anything or removed let me know. Feedback is life giving force :)Â

You waved at the bartender tapping the counter for another one.
You had gone straight to your room to clean up when you end the boys got back to the motel. After a quick shower you took a walk. Your feet took you down the street to the bar, apparently they knew what you needed.
âWill you leave the bottle?â You asked the bartender as he poured you another glass. You had lost count at this point.
He set the bottle down before walking away. There was one other patron sitting at the bar leaving the place pretty quiet. It was the perfect place to take the edge off and try to forget.
âY/N?â A voice came from behind you.
âHmm?â you answered without turning around.
âYou okay?â Sam folded her large frame onto the stool next to you taking in the half empty bottle on the bar next to you.
âYep, Iâm good,â you smiled tightly at him taking another drink.
âYou donât look okay,â he waved the bartender down for a glass. He tipped the whiskey into it and took a drink setting it softly on the bar.
âIâm okay Sam. I always am.â You finished what was in your glass and filled it again.
âY/N, take a walk with me.â He finished his drink and turned towards you.
You turned towards him and took a deep breath. You knew you couldnât lie to him, especially after this much alcohol. You could see the concern on his face.
âOkay,â you told him quietly. You stood up and dropped enough cash in the bar to cover your tab and a little extra and followed him out of the bar.
You stuck your hands deep into your coat pockets and walked in silence with Sam. He didnât say anything, just walked with you. He was close enough that your shoulders were brushing. Finally you reached out slipping under his arm sliding your arm around his waist. He wrapped his arm around your shoulders pulling you close.
Tears started to streak down your cheeks, you sucked in a shaky breath turning your face into his side.
âYouâre okay Y/N,â he said quietly gripping you tighter. As he continued walking you realized he was guiding you towards the motel.
You fished your key out of your coat and handed it to Sam, your eyes were so blurry you couldnât see to open the door. You heard the door open, Sam to the side as you made your way inside. You stood in the middle of the room for a second before turning toward Sam. He was still standing in the doorway.
âPlease donât go Sam.â You wrapped your arms around yourself looking up at him. âIâm not okay,â you whispered.
He closed the door and crossed the room and engulfed you in his arms. You wrapped your arms around his waist and held on for dear life. You felt like you were drowning.
âShhh, youâre going to be okay,â he rested his chin on top of your head.
âI havenât ever seen anything like that,â you cried into his chest.
âThe things you see in this life will change the way you view the world, they will hurt you and they will impact you.â
You didnât respond, you didnât know how.
âYouâll be okay. You are saving people, you are helping people, youâll get through it. Youâre strong.â He pressed his lips against the top of your head.
âI donât feel like Iâm going to be okay.â You sniffled looking up at him.
âY/N, I promise. You will be okay.â He cupped your face in his large hand.
âHow?â Your lip quivered.
âYou embrace the pain, and you move on. You remember everything, each one, and you remember that youâre doing good. You are saving people.â He gave you a small smile.
âWill you stay?â
âIf you want me too.â
âYes, I do.â You stepped back and took your coat off laying it over the chair.
Sam followed suit laying his coat over yours. He sat on the bed and took his shoes off. You kicked your shoes off and pulled your T-shirt over your head leaving you in a tank top and jeans. You watched him as you slipped your jeans off and climbed into bed.
Sam stood up and looked at you for a second before yanking his shirt over his head and climbing into bed next to you.
âThank you.â You looked at him as he settled in bed on his back.
âDonât thank me, Iâll always be here. Come here.â He held his arm out.
You curled into his side lying your head on his chest. You listened to his heartbeat and tried to push everything away. Lying here with Sam, you finally felt that maybe you would be okay.

Summary: The reader runs into Sam after a long time; surprises ensue.
Pairing: Sam x Reader
Word count: 1.9K
Warnings: Potty language. Slight canon divergence; this is after Dean and Cas come back from Purgatory, except Sam never met Amelia.
Authorâs note: This one is written just slightly differently, hope thatâs okay!
Sam was hunched over his laptop when Cas tried to get his attention. âSam, you said that the victimâs uncle had heard sounds in her shed, which was why he went to investigate.â
Sam turned his head to look at Cas. âYeah. But Dean said that the alibi doesnât check out.â He looked at Dean to see what he had to say, but Deanâs eyes were trained on someone behind Sam. Sam moved his body in front of Dean. âUh, Dean?â He clicked his fingers in front of his face. âDeano.â
Dean, startled, turned his attention to Sam. âDonât turn around, but thereâs this girl whoâs been staring at you ever since we sat down.â He whispered, leaning in. âDonât. Turn. Around.â He added, as Sam began to do just that.
Sam cleared his throat, standing up from his chair. âIâm gonna go get us another beer. Dean? Burger?â He walked away from their table as he got his nod of approval, sneaking a glance at the girl as he did.
You gripped your bottle of beer even tighter in your hand as you saw that the tall man was, indeed, Sam Winchester.
When you had caught sight of that hair and those broad shoulders as they entered the bar, you just had to make sure if it was him. You watched the way his back moved while he talked, just the way Samâs did. The way he pushed his hair out of his face as he leaned back in his seat, just the way Sam did. The way he made gestures with his hands while he talked, just the way Sam did.
Sam Winchester.
That had ended months ago, you told yourself. Months ago, when you spent one night with Sam. One night which turned to two. Two which turned to four. Before you knew it, three months had passed and you had found yourself much more smitten with Sam than when you had met him.
You knew you had to say goodbye. Sam had told you you would have to. He had said that he wouldnât stay for long.
And yet, when he left one day and didnât return the next, you found yourself pining.
You told yourself it was for the best. You told yourself again and again that if it would have gone on it would have ended horribly. But no matter how many times you told yourself that, you just couldnât bring yourself to believe it.
You needed one last time with him. To say goodbye. To have closure.
Yeah. You could work with that. One last time, for closure.
So when you saw Sam pass by you in the bar, you cursed your legs when they remained frozen. They remained in their seats like the obedient little shits they were. (Your own words.)
But when Sam turned around and saw that it was you, all colour left his face.
Oh. Thatâs how he felt when he saw you. Good thing those obedient little shits remained where they were. But when Sam began walking towards you regardless of the expression on his face, you stood up, your chair knocking into someone passing behind you, earning you a âWatch it!â
âSorry,â you mumbled to the stranger behind you, all while rubbing your sweaty palms on your hands.
âY/N?â Sam said, his voice shaking. âDuncan, Oklahoma? What are you doing here?â He walked around your table and put his arms around you, squeezing your tiny body with his large one.
âIâm⌠seeing family.â You were not seeing family. You were here because a rogue vampire was on the loose. But Sam didnât need to know that. âWhat about you? Did you move here?â
Sam chuckled, his hair falling in front of his face. âNo, my brotherâs boyfriend had some work in town, and I drove them here.â He pointed his thumb behind him. âIâm going to be here for another couple of days. What about you?â
âYeah, a couple of days. Why?â You were pretty sure that he wanted to âcatch up, itâs been so long,â but you really didnât want to do that. Not when you know you wouldnât be able to stop yourself at just catching up.
âLetâs catch up, itâs been so long.â
Called it.
âYeah, letâs!â You laughed, throwing your arms into the air.
It felt like the music in the bar kept getting louder and louder every minute. Your vision kept getting more and more blurred as you continued to engage in small talk with Sam. You needed to get to your motel room and scream in a pillow.
You needed to get out of there before Sam realised what was happening.
The next morning, you were stood outside the bar, pistol, knife and two vials of dead manâs blood tucked safely into your belt. You breathed in and out through your mouth as you waited for Sam to arrive at the scene, as he had promised yesterday.
âHey, Y/N,â a hand tapped your shoulder from behind. Sam.
âHey, Sam.â You waved awkwardly at him as you turned around.
âSo my brotherâs boyfriend - I told you about him yesterday - said thereâs a lovely place to grab a bite just a couple of blocks away. You want to head there?â
âSure,â you said, taking a little bow. A little bow. You knew you shouldnât have agreed to this. You were bowing in front of him.
Sam laughed lightly as he fell into step beside you.
âSoâŚâ He began.
âSo?â Your hands were shoved into your pockets.
âSo.â Awkward silence.
Ha. This is so much fun. You thought to yourself. I bet he wanted to -
But before you could get on with making assumptions about him in your head, Sam cut you off with his words. âY/N, I know things didnât end well between us. They didnât end the way I would have wanted them to.â He tugged on his jacket with his hands inside his pockets, making it go in wild directions. âIf I could have had another chance at getting it right, I would have taken it.â
âWould have?â You chuckled. âNot will?â
âWellâŚâ Sam trailed off. He looked like he was thinking hard for an answer.
âYou donât have to answer,â you told him slowly. âI know what you mean.â
âYou do?â
âYes.â
âSo when did you leave Wisconsin?â Sam asked, setting his mug of coffee down after taking a sip.
âA while ago,â you had not touched your coffee or food since it had arrived. âThings started to change for me, so I had to leave.â
âWhat was the change?â Sam was leaning forward on his hands intently. His eyes were boring right into yours, and it was making you nervous.
âWhy did you up and leave one day?â You countered, leaning forward as well. Your voice was soft, breathy, like you were afraid toÂ
âTouchĂŠ,â Sam whispered back, leaning back in his seat. âBut I must say, that time we -â His eyes flitted to someone behind you.
Someone other than you. For all you knew, maybe she was another fling. Maybe he was.
Slowly, you turned to see where Sam was looking, your eyes narrowing as your vision zeroed in on someone else.
The vampire.
You turned around at the same time Sam was getting out of his seat, throwing some cash on the table. âI have to leave,â he muttered.
âMe, too.â You said, getting up as well. âWell, this was fun.â
Without waiting for Samâs reply, you turned around and walked out of the cafĂŠ like the vamp had. Your hand drew your knife from your belt as you walked quietly, keeping the vamp in sight.
A few steps later, it made a quick dart to the left, disappearing behind a turn. Great, you thought. Itâs leading me to its nest.
But as you were about to make the same turn, to your surprise, Sam ran past you, taking the same turn, Gun in hand.
Gun in hand?
âSam?â You couldnât resist yourself, catching up with him. âGun?â
âWe havenât got time for this, Y/N.â He muttered. âGet to somewhere safe if you can.â
Oh.
He was looking for the same vamp you were.
âNo,â You said, running past him.
âY/N!â Sam shouted.
You turned back while running, shouting to him, âThe clip! The clip of your gun!â
A few minutes later, you saw that the vamp had led you to a small clearing. No one there. No vamp, no nest.
Sam had caught up with you soon, out of breath, âY/N, leave.â
âSam, this is my job.â You said, your eyes searching the clearing. Something was not right. This doesnât happen with vampires.
âY/N, I donât want you to get hurt! We just met again, I want to spend some time with you before -â He took a pause, taking a few steps to stand in front of you. âBefore something happens to one of us.â
âWell, you should have thought of that before you left.â This wasnât you. This was âHunter Y/N.â She just had to get the case out of her system before she could go back to being you.
Sam let his shoulders drop. âIâm sorry, okay? Iâm sorry. I should have told you before I left. There was this demon that was screwing shit up in Amarillo. But you should know, all while hunting it, the only thing that was on my mind was going back to Wisconsin. To see you.â He took a step forward, only to be met with you taking a step back. He sighed. âIn the time we had, I fell in love with you, Y/N. I really did.â
You let your gun hand fall to your side, pinching the bridge of your nose with the other. You wearily opened your eyes to meet his gaze. âLetâs first hunt this son of a bitch down, and then weâve got some things to catch up on.â
âSounds like a plan to me.â
âYouâre pretty good.â Sam said, sitting on the floor cross-legged in front of you as he cleaned up the little gash on your arm. âWhen did you start hunting?â
âRight after you left, my brother got bitten by a werewolf. And once youâre in, youâre never out,â you smiled, wincing at the same time.
As Sam was wrapping your hand in gauze, you asked, âYou fell in love with me?â Your voice was meek.
âYeah, I did.â Sam said. He brought his hand down from your wound to your hand, taking it in his own. âAnd I wanted to come back and tell you. But when youâre a hunter, the life isnât really yours.â Sam laughed a hollow laugh.
You squeezed his hand back to get him to look at you. You placed on of your hands on his cheek, bringing his face forward to give him a small kiss on his forehead. As you did, without forewarning, Samâs arms came around you. He held on tight, his body warming yours. His shallow, nervous breaths were loud in the small motel room, and in that moment, you wanted to tell Sam that you knew exactly how he felt.
You wanted to tell him that you felt all the exact things he did. You wanted to tell him that you loved him, too. You wanted to tell him to never let you go. To keep you like this. To kiss you silly. To love you.
But you wouldnât.
Because you had played this game before. And you were a hunter now. So now, the game just got upped a level. You were going to play safe.
So you pressed another kiss to his forehead and pushed his hair behind his ear. You let him have you in his embrace as long as he wanted.
And when he pulled away, you simply said, âLetâs see how things work out.â

Request/Prompt(s): Could i request a high tension sam x reader with 39 and 66? just like enemies to lovers kind of thing where one of them gets injured or a little too risky with the mission and the other gets pissed and the argument just escalates.
39. Â âNo, youâre tall and bossy, and you keep doing that thing with your eyebrows.â
66. Â âPut the gun down.â
Warnings: swearing, typical mission violence, nothing too intense
Word Count: 2181
A/N: Okay I dunno if this is exactly what you were after, but hopefully? Itâs tough to fit enemies to lovers into a one shot, man! Hopefully I captured it okay for you.
Standing behind the desk, you leaned over to reach the keyboard when you heard your name over the wire in your ear. Steve sounded out of breath. Thatâs never a good sign.
âYou about done in there?â he huffed over the muffled grunt of what you assumed to be a guard heâd taken out trying to keep your exit clear. âWeâre coming under some fire out here. We need to move out soon.â
âYup,â you answered quietly, eyes darting to the door. âAll downloaded. Just need to activate the virus now... Tony whereâs the virus? I donât see it on the drive.â
âYeah, thatâs because itâs on the second drive,â he snapped, âWere you even listening during the briefing? Or was it really more important for you to get those peanuts into Wilsonâs coffee?â
âExcuse me, those were skillful spoon-catapult shots,â you smirked, twirling the small flash drive in your fingers. âDonât come crying to me the next time youâre bored at a charity event and want a re-match.â
âWhat a fuckin diva!â Sam jumped in, âNeed someone to carry your weapons for you too? Iâm clear here, I can bring it in, princess, but donât get used to it. Iâm not covering your ass on every mission.â
âWho dâyou think youâre calling princess, Tiny Wings?â you snapped, rolling your eyes, unable to stop yourself even if he wasnât there to see it. He just got under your skin! And it was so fun to get under his. âYou wish you could get that close to this ass.â
âOh-ho! You think so?!â
âHurry it up, guys,â Steve called again, sounding irritated. âWeâre getting bogged down.â
âSorry, Cap,â you admitted, allowing a levity seep into your tone. Your mistake was, in fact, compromising the mission a little. Sam wouldnât be where he was supposed to be, and youâd both be delayed getting back to the jet, meaning Steve would need to hold his position longer than planned. âThis oneâs on me. I forgot the drive.â
As you paced behind the desk, waiting for Sam you pondered how the hell youâd managed to forget the drive. A rookie mistake. Youâd been with the team long enough to know the pattern here: infiltrate, extract, deconstruct. There was always, always a second drive to disable the systems and scatter the hard drives. Nothing was to be left useable, even if you had to pull out of a base out-numbered, their tech should be wiped and their communications unusable.
When you heard the quick shuffle of heavy boots and the soft swishing noise of neoprene tactical gear outside the door, you crouched quickly to a defensive position, drawing your revolver and crouching low. With silent, careful heel-toe steps you swiftly edged to the wall, pressing your shoulder to it so your extended firearm aimed at the open entryway now parallel to your view.
When the first person stepped into the door he was careless. His gun was drawn, but his stance was sloppy and his whole body was inside before heâd even had time to sweep half the room. Seeing as it definitely was NOT your Sam and he came for you with a gun already drawn, you didnât hesitate in firing a bullet clear through his chest. He staggered back and slunk to the wall.
If you hadnât just given away your position youâd be proud of your shot, but the blood splattered on the opposite wall told everyone involved exactly where you were. You quickly slipped to the other side of the desk, crouching behind it as the next two men slipped into the room more cautiously. One bullet managed to find its target, sinking into the manâs chest. The other was fired more frantically as his partner began to return fire. You managed to nick his shoulder, but he kept firing at you through the desk as his partner was replaced with another.
You wouldnât last long like this. âSam! Where the hell are you?â you hissed into your com, the chaotic pop of the firing squad at your door ringing through along with your voice.
âShit!â Sam worried in your ear. âHang on, Iâm on my way!â
By the time Sam made his approach there were three bodies blocking the doorway. He was relieved to see that none of them were yours. He moved quickly and cautiously into the room when he heard you grunt elbowing the man behind you harshly. The crunch of Samâs steps on the broken glass from the ruined door drew both you and your attackerâs attention. Unfortunately you werenât the first to recover.
In a snap the man youâd just been fighting closed a gloved fist around a large shard of broken glass and slipped his free arm around your neck in one swift motion. Before you could react he had the glass at your throat. You hadnât even felt it slip into your skin just slightly. It was the angry and worried look that flashed across Samâs face that clued you into the warm trickle of blood sliding down your neck and across your collarbone.
âDrop it!â the man shouted next to your ear.
âTake it easy, man,â Sam answered in a calm even voice, though you could see the dark storm in his brown eyes.
âPut the gun down.â Another twist of the glass at your neck.
âAlright, man, I heard you.â
âSam!â you shouted, âDonât you dare! Heâs gonna kill me anyway. Get the hell out of here!â Your eyes darted with obvious intention to the drive lying amidst the chaos of the desk between you.
Samâs head shot back and his eyebrows drew together in the deepest frown youâd ever seen. A frown that, coming from Sam Wilson, screamed, âAre you out of your fucking mind?â You werenât, you were trying to do the right thing, fix your mistake, and get the rest of the team out alive with at least a half-successful mission.
âI SAID DROP IT!â The manâs loud voice was sharp in your ear and you winced away from the sound, but his grip on you was unrelenting.
âSam, donât,â you pleaded, âWeâre soldiers, you know not every soldier makes it home but we commit to the fight anyway.â
âShut up!â The grip tightened around you, the sharp glass still dangerously close.
âThis is important,â again your eyes flickered to the flash drive, the data youâd come for. âJust come back for me, alright?â
âIâm not leaving you.â You watched as he lifted his hands in the air, palms out as he eased to set the gun on the ground. Your mouth dropped open, shaking, suddenly aware of every breath, grateful that he was here and you wouldnât be alone for this. At the same time your fists balled into tight knots, tears pushing at the corners of your eyes, furious that heâd done this, put himself in this position, too. He could have, should have walked away.
âKick the gun over here,â your assailant instructed Sam harshly.
You waited without moving, barely breathing, hoping this guy would give you an opening. If he had any whisper of a brainwave in there heâd drive that glass into your throat and dive for Samâs gun and end you both before anyone else made it into the room.
Apparently, this one was in over his head. He guided you down with him as he crouched to reach for the gun. When he dropped the glass and reached for the gun you struck. Leaning away from the gun, your elbow collided with his turned jaw, sending him stumbling back with the unexpected force. Still crouched, you stretched back the other way, reaching for the gun and spinning on your toes, staying low. By the time youâd made it around to aim at the man, Sam was already on him.
He was ferocious, pounding the manâs face until his clawing, desperate hands fell away from Samâs shoulders, unconscious. As Sam leaned back with a groan you fired off two quick shots, guaranteeing a minuteâs peace before collapsing back onto the floor, dropping heavily onto your back with a long, frustrated sigh.
Before you could settle your racing heart, Sam was at your side, dragging you to your feet. âCâmon, princess. No time for a nap, we gotta go.â
You huffed and rolled your eyes, irritation brimming to the surface unchecked after the drain of adrenaline on your system. For some reason those damn pet names drove you crazy. Just the idea that Sam would throw around false affection so easily, even with a small thing like this, made your blood boil and you lashed out.
âWhat the hell were you thinking?â you asked, practically yelling as you swatted his arm, taking the flash drive with the virus over to the computer.
âUh I think I was saving your ass!â Sam fired back.
âYeah? By giving the guy with a shank to my throat a gun?!â you demanded, the frustration leaking into every syllable.
âNo I gave you a gun,â he corrected as you rounded back towards him, snatching up the first flash drive. âI knocked him out before you even had your hands on it.â
âOh I'm so glad you were willing to take that risk! Did you--â
âGod damn! Would you just say âthank youâ?â He snapped, âI'm your damn hero today! I came up here to fix your mistake, saved your ass, I put my ass on the line because I fuckin love you and you won't shut the hell up about one tiny risk!â
âNo, youâre tall and bossy, and you keep doing that thing with your eyebrows! Wait, what?â Your instinct to argue had moved faster than you could pick up his words and now you were stuck gaping at him.
âWhat thing with my eyebrows?â He asked quickly, glaring at you suspiciously as you stepped closer.
âYou just saidâŚâ you werenât sure what to say or even think. You and Sam had always been close, ribbing at each other in a way that only the other could get away with, and you knew part of what drove your snide remarks was an unrelenting need to keep a barrier. You genuinely didnât think he returned the feeling, he called you all these nicknames that you thought were light and disingenuous, he threw you in the pool, stole your coffee, egged you on in the gym. He more or less treated you like a pal, but in retrospect⌠maybe it was all misplaced affection, like you throwing peanuts in his coffee this morning just to keep his attention fixed on you, that half irritated smirk was all you needed.
As your many swirling thoughts settled into place, you realized youâd been quiet and the tension was thick. Sam stood watching you with an expectant look, eyebrows raised, eyes scrutinizing your every move. Without another thought you stepped quickly into his space, slipping your fingers under seam of the leather armor where his chest met his shoulders and abruptly pulled him closer, leaning up to press a rushed and insistent kiss to his lips. He responded immediately, large hands pressed to your back, hugging you against him. It was distinctly unsatisfying to be separated by all his armor and your tactical gear, but the soft way his lips molded to yours had your hand slipping up the side of his jaw, just begging for warm skin.
âWell that went better than I expected,â he murmured just a breath away, still holding you close, eyes darting between your eyes and lips, trying to take in your reaction but still caught up in the moment.
âIâd say so,â you answered with a lazy grin, âseeing as it wasnât expected at all. Especially right now. In the middle of a mission. When Iâm sweating and actively bleeding.â You laughed, swiping at the trickle of blood still sliding over your neck.
âYeah⌠I couldâve picked a better moment.â
âCan you two pick a moment soon to get back to the jet?â Tony whined over the com line. âIâve got places to be. My DVRâs full and Game of Thrones is on in an hour.â
âDonât rush perfection, man!â Sam snapped, âWeâll make sure we get you home and tucked in before your shows come on.â Taking your hand, he guided you through the door, picking a careful path over the bodies in the entryway before taking off at a jog back toward the jet.
You snorted out a laugh as Sam and Tony continued to snip at each other.
âRelax, Toucan Sam, thereâs more than one TV, you two can still catch Golden Girls later.â
âHey, those ladies know whatâs up. I just donât want you to miss Wheel of Fortune. I know how you get.â
You rolled your eyes, as you stepped on to the plane and they just wouldnât stop. They were talking over each other, the teasing relentless.
âTony, weâll get you into your house coat, with your bunny slippers, and some Metamucil, and youâll be all set. Look itâs not even 6:30 yet, youâre good, baby, youâre good.â
âI think Steel Magnolias is in Pepperâs movie collection, Iâm sure sheâd be happy to let you borrow it again.â
It was almost a relief: the more things changed, the more they stayed the same.

Part two: "med school?" Sam laughed. Your blush deepened, sending your heart rate up a bit. "dont laugh! I always wanted to be a doctor. Dropped out after my sister was killed by a Wendigo." Sam sobered up. He knew better than to make fun of your passions. He pulled the stethoscope out of the bag and messed it a bit before bringing the earpieces to his ears. "May I?" he wanted to listen to his own heartbeat. You blushed more, as this was a fantasy of yours. -Cardio!Sam Nonnie <3
Asdfhjhjkk Sammy! Love it! (Donât put it in backwards lol)
Imagine Sam intending on just saving you but falling for you hard...
Part One
Dean glanced over at Sam in the car, who was looking at his phone, âGod seriously get a room...â
Sam looked at him, âWhat?â
âYou two have got to be doing more then talking...youâre looking at your phone constantly.â Dean smirked, âIs she kinky?â
âDean, itâs not like that...â Sam rolled his eyes, âSheâs smart and weâre having an actual conversation.â
âOh yeah, about what?â Dean adjusted in the front seat glancing at your house.
âUh...thereâs a new discovery off the coast of Sweden. Itâs showing some witchcraft rituals from the stone age.â Sam told him.
Dean looked at him again, âReally? You find that interesting?â
âItâs a big find. Itâs exciting and... well having it relate to what we do is helping me ease into the conversation of supernatural...â Sam told him, âAnd yes it is interesting.â
âWhatever.â Dean sighed looking at the house again, âYouâre keeping her up.â
âYeah...â Sam said absentmindedly as his phone received another text.
*I would give anything to be on a dig site like that*
Sam smiled as his finger began to fly. He liked your enthusiasm.
*I have no doubt you will one day.*
You smiled as you sat down on your bed your phone in your hand. You were in mid text telling Sam youâd outta hit the hay when he sent you another one.
*Do you really think thereâs witchcraft there? Or is it just superstition?*
âGood question.â You mumbled to yourself.
*Iâd be willing to believe anything...thereâs a lot out there that we donât understand. Itâs why I want to do this.*
Sam thought about how to respond as Dean started to hum, âDude seriously...trying to concentrate...â
âSorry...â Dean rolled his eyes hearing the buzz again, âJesus...â
âYou wanted me to do this...â Sam told him as he opened it.
*Does that make me sound crazy?*
You sat there staring at your phone for a really long time. Did you just scare him away? Maybe it was a good thing, you really didnât need distractions, but he was a really good looking distraction. You shut your eyes letting your head fall against the head board picturing Samâs eyes and his soft smile.
*Buzz buzz*
*Itâs not crazy. I agree there are things out there that canât be explained, we need people like you to help figure them out.*
You smiled holding the phone to your head. What were you doing? You needed to focus on your studies and you would be starting an internship soon.
*Thanks, Sam. I needed to hear that. Iâll see you in the morning, goodnight.*
*Night, Y/N. Sleep well...*
Sam sent the text knowing full well that it would be impossible. Theyâd caught the case a while back. Someone had died and there were three in a coma. At first they thought it was a Shtriga, but when it wasnât children it changed their thinking.
âWe still donât know how to kill this thing...â Dean looked at him, âWe donât even know if the wards we planted her apartment will work.â
âWe have to try something until we hear back from someone.â Sam told him looking up at you window as the light went out, âWe gotta figure it out soon...Iâm not sure if sheâs going to be able to take much more.â
âA boogeyman though?â Dean sighed, âItâs a stretch...â
âJust because weâve never seen one...â Sam started to defend.
âI know, I know!â Dean groaned, âI just donât like not knowing how to gank something.â
âWe could always try silver bullet to the heart and head.â Sam told him, âItâs pretty standard...â
âAlong with salt rounds for good measure.â Dean nodded, âDefinitely does not hurt.â
âYeah...â Sam sighed, âHopefully the cameras will catch something too...just try not to do anything stupid when you go get them in the morning...â
âI...â Dean opened his mouth to argue but shut it, âShut up...â
Sam smiled a little leaning back, âWake me for shift change.â
âYeah whatever...â He heard his brother grumble as he started to relax. He wouldnât admit it to Dean, but he was really excited to see you in the morning. Youâd been texting him all day after he inquired how your class went.
He sighed drifting off hoping someone would get back to them soon with more information. He didnât want anything to happen to you. You were one of a kind and he wanted to protect that.
