bartlet: 300 IQ points between them, and they can't find their way home. I swear to God, If Donna wasn't there they'd have to buy a house.
this is extra funny because it is 100% true. she's the one handling most of their navigation (granted, josh does come up with some stuff but she beats him to it) i think it would've taken them twice as long to get back to dc if donna wasn't with them 😭
both are very smart but donna is able to stay way more together under stress.
Trivia Time!
Which of the following is NOT true?
"Home" was the first episode to premiere with a TV-MA rating
Cigarette Smoking Man was originally planned to be just another extra
An unscripted car crash happened during filming and made it into the final cut
An earlier version of the pilot gave Scully a boyfriend named Ethan
Doggett is Robert Patrick's all-time favorite role
David Duchovny accidentally outran two horses while filming an episode
Hint/Warning: The correct answer is insidiously based on a technicality.
So we all know this was the opening gag for S4 E2 "A Tale of Two Santas" ...
... and then the episode was animated normally.
but what if someone took the episode's audio, including the intro, and remade it all, while actually performing with sock puppets? :D

Can we just talk about Ronon physically jerking Sheppard away?
Lifeline is just hard. Elizabeth yet again sacrifices herself for Atlantis. She's given up her life on earth. She slept for 10,000 years. She welcomed Sheppard, Teyla, Ronon, and Rodney into her home. She fought to get herself back when the nanites tried to convince her it was all a dream, and now she's making the ultimate sacrifice. She can't live without the nanites, but she uses them to stop the Replicators from destroying her home and family. I do sincerely love her so much.
I love her and find her motivating to welcome those in need into my home and to be willing to sacrifice myself for it. She's such an inspiration.
I love Sheppard's micro-expressions in this episode. They go from annoyed to fearful to 'over my dead body' to a willingness to fight to the death. I love his belief that they will rescue Elizabeth. I love and hate the pain of him having to leave another person behind. He had to leave Ford and now Elizabeth. He failed to save them. You can tell it haunts him. I think this is why SGA hits so much harder than SG1. I love SG1, but it has so few of these ultimate moments. I mean Daniel Jackson coming back from the dead is a running joke. Elizabeth only comes back one more time and it is heart-wrenching.
Things have been dark on Atlantis before, but now we enter the really dark phase, which lasts until the end. Sheppard is more broken, more burdened. McKay is trying to do the impossible of keeping his family together. Ronon's puppy dog phase is pretty much over. The whole team is far more scarred.
Last, I love that Sheppard put Teyla in charge when he left. His trust in her is beautiful and her willingness to accept and step up is so beautiful.
Also, I started this episode and realized I have my chronological watch all out of sync because Carter is not fighting the Ori. Wait, what? So I had to stop it and watch the last five episodes of SG1 season 10 and the Ark of Truth. Now I'm all in the right spot.
