The Savepoint System

it was yet another boring day on the countertop. Pear was reading his copy of Animal Farm that he recently borrowed from the library.

...or at least, he was TRYING to. but Orange kept hopping around him and yammering.

"hey Pear! hey! Pear! Pear, hey! hey Pear! heyyyyyyy!"

"WHAT???? what could possibly be so important right now?!"

suddenly, Orange pulled out a small box out of nowhere, giving it to Pear.

"gotcha something cool!" Orange chirped, smiling cheesily.

Pear was confused, since Orange hadn't been one for random gifts outside of special occasions. nevertheless, he opened the box to reveal...

...a wedding ring?!

"wh-- i-- huh--?!" Pear stammered before muttering, "what.. is this about...?"

"do you wanna marry me?" Orange asked bluntly, seeming entirely genuine. this really wasn't a prank, was it.

"i.. w-well... Orange, we don't have hands. how would we wear rings??"

"oh, that's easy! we can just wear them around our stems, like a crown or something!"

Pear paused for a moment, blushing heavily as he weighed the pros and cons of marrying someone he knew as well as Orange.

after what felt like half an hour, he finally spoke again.

"uhm.. y-yeah. i wanna marry you, Orange."

"REALLY?!" Orange exclaimed, beaming with ecstasy and amazement.

"yeah... i think that'd be nice."

Orange was so happy to hear Pear's agreement, he nuzzled up against him and actually relaxed for once.

"i love you..." Orange sighed dreamily, as if he could fall asleep any moment now.

"...i love you too."
