FAQ
How long do polls run for?
Usually one week
What's your policy on spoilers?
I welcome all discussion of the show in the reblogs/comments, but out of courtesy for first time viewers I'll try to avoid unnecessary spoilers in my own posts. Mild spoilers may be present in episode/image descriptions and propaganda, but I'll label or avoid any major ones.
Why is an actor's name missing from a post?
If an actor's name is omitted in a post where others are named then—unless I've made a legitimate error—they have be censured. See this post for more information
How are you tagging things?
All original polls are tagged with #polls
All polls from or based on other blogs are tagged #other polls
Any poll that featuring an episode is tagged with that episodes name & season placement (formatted #S... E...).
Any poll that featuring a season as a whole are tagged as #season ...
Any poll featuring a character is tagged with that character name.
Any poll featuring an actor outside of the show's context is tagged with that actor's name and #actors
Once I have more polls up, I'll probably make a tag masterpost/directory

Regardless of actual canon, do you think Mulder and Scully ever left the FBI?
yes, but only when retiring at an older age
yes, to avoid the dangers/trauma of their job
yes, due to their distrust of the government
no, they continued to work with the FBI/x files in some way until they died
more specific (tell me in tags/replies/comments)

Personally, I like to think they finally came to their senses (how it's stupid that they work for a government they know to be corrupt) and up and left, but I'm curious what everyone else thinks

I've seen some conflicting reports so I have a very genuine question for X-Files fans who have seen all of it. I am wondering if I should watch all of The X-Files even though I've heard the last season of the OG run (Season 9) and the revival seasons are sort of bad.
Now is it bad in a silly way or bad in a 'we sort of don't know where to go or what to do and are dragging these characters and their narratives along for nothing' sort of way? I can handle sort of silly bad but the latter kind I don't tend to like. Some may say I should just ride the show all the way but I don't know I'm wondering if I could just stop and it'd be okay? Just curious how others feel about it I guess!
For a first time viewer of The X-Files, is it worth it to watch all of X-Files (Season 1-9/Both Movies/Seasons 10-11)?
Yes, it's at least worth it to watch it all the way
Depends/Maybe (please share in tags or other)
No, it doesn't matter in the long run

If spoilers could be avoided I'd appreciate it! (I just started Season 7 at the moment and have seen Fight the Future)
Who's the better one-off character? (Semifinals, top two move on)
Clyde Bruckman (played by Peter Boyle in "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose")
The Eves (played by Harriet Harris & Erika/Sabrina Krievins)
Sheriff Lucius Hartwell (played by Luke Wilson in "Bad Blood")
Luther Lee Boggs (played by Brad Dourif in "Beyond the Sea")

Propaganda under the cut for length reasons
Clyde Bruckman: Hilarious. Tragic. Makes fun of Mulder, won an Emmy for it. "Final Repose" is one of TXF's most acclaimed episodes for good reason. If Clyde wasn't Clyde, this episode wouldn't be nearly as well received.
Clyde Bruckman: You don't get it, do you, kid? Two years from now, while driving down Route 91, coming home to your wife and baby daughter, you're going to be hit head-on by a drunk, driving a blue '87 Mustang. You'll end up looking worse than 60 feet of bad road your body slides across after flying out your front windshield. Young Husband: Mister, you really need to work on your closing technique.
The Eves: Such a cool concept. So terrifying.
"You and you. You have 46 chromosomes. The Adams and the Eves ... we have 56. We have extra chromosomes. Number 4, 5, 12, 16, and 22. This replication of chromosomes also produces additional genes. Heightened strength. Heightened intelligence." "Heightened psychosis."
I paid too much attention to a guard. Bit into his eyeball. I meant it as a sign of affection. Are you going to give me an IQ test by any chance? I think I can top 265. We're very bright, we Eves. It runs in the family.
Sheriff Hartwell: I love how petty Mulder & Scully get over him. Also the fact that he's [episode spoilers] a vampire.
Luther Lee Boggs: Brad Dourif killing it as usual. Memorable for a reason.
