s05e05 –Fallen Idols

First of all, apart from wincest I think we don't talk enough about how this episode once again takes away his bodily autonomy.

Also gary asking if he could drive and Dean just agreeing is actually kind of surprising, telling us that Sam must've just never asked

Wincest wise:

The iconic diner scene

1: the fact that Sam only reacts with slight annoyance/dismissal is crazy. (If my siblings called me baby I would definitely react differently.) Also this feels like it obviously is not the first time Dean called him that (even in jest)

2: literally the only right way Sam could've reacted. Just imagine if he had told Dean that he was till thinking about leaving the lifestyle. Dean would've thrown punches again before locking Sam up to keep him with him

Imo it's not a very wincesty episode since:

I feel like with Wincest, Dean would have reacted differently to Gary going off to have sex. Like Sam is his (property) and his to have sex with (use), not really somebody else.

Dean would've also figured out it wasn't Sam much quicker if it was Wincest, since I don't think Gary would've been able to ge through gay incestious sex

We haven't actually seen Hector's lie detector, but I like that it also involves looking into the person' eyes

Oh I forgot about these two. But it's pprobably because in my opinion, the twins' lie detector are just on all the damn time :))))) It's just their default settings, i guess

Season 5 - 8/10 - Netflix - 2025/2026

Los chavales de Hawkins se enfrentan a la amenaza final. Vecna quiere reconstruir el mundo, llenarlo de monstruos y básicamente dominarlo todo. Pero este grupo de chavales no se lo va a poner fácil.

Ha costado llegar hasta aquí. Han sido muchas situaciones en que los protagonistas caminan demasiado despacio o no se prestan atención los unos a los otros. Errores tontos que siempre tenían consecuencias terribles. Esta vez se ponen las pilas, maduran y son capaces de llevar a cabo un plan increíblemente complejo para tratar de salvar al mundo. A nivel de producción es difícil compararla con algo más. Esta serie (y esta temporada en particular) es carísima, cuenta con efectos visuales en casi cada escena y además, recrea extraordinariamente bien el mundo de los '80 en el que se desarrolla. No todos los actores están a la altura, con una mención especial a Millie Bobby Brown, que cada día expresa menos con su cara. En la otra cara de la moneda está Sadie Sink, que se come con patatas a todo aquel que osa actuar frente a ella.
