I’m so glad this piece is finally done! Not 100% pleased by how it turned out, but since this is my first time drawing people (or anything like this), I’ll try not to beat myself up too much.

This is a major spoiler for my fic Stars in Shadow based on RuneScratch’s and B1ueflame’s Darkpath AU. I first came across it some months ago and not only did I fall head-over-heels for it, I’m totally inspired. It’s amazing and I love it!!!

I’m not a huge fan of Imagine Dragons, I admit, but I noticed that in the song “Demons” there are lyrics (especially listed above) that reflect Hiro’s thoughts about his growing relationship with my OC, Anwyn.

About this drawing: I love RuneScratch’s version of older Darkpath Hiro and added one or two tiny details (you have to squint to see them) to make it more my own. He’s supposed to be sixteen in the original AU, but I aged him up to eighteen for my story. I also had him standing in shadow with Anwyn in the light not only to be symbolic but also to hint at my fic’s title.

“Only a few days until we reach the fortress,” a Yama-sized humanoid with greenish-gray skin said to the cyclops-looking-thing with him. “Then we can finally kill Queen Anwyn and be rid of her.”
