A story on the first shard of a male Viera and a big goofy dragon man, also known as an au ra (drahn) named Yishma’el 🦎  It would be neat if drahn were able to shapeshift into actual dragons, so Yishma’el’s creator and I are running with it~ 

Ari’s just very glad yish didn’t eat him, Yish found him injured and dragged him away from some lingering sin eaters, saved his life, and now the two of them rely on one another.

“H-he almost...he tried...and you...” she stammered.

Hiro held her more firmly, causing her to gasp. “Hey, it’s okay.”

She huffed. “You could’ve gotten killed, you bloody moho!”

Hiro snorted, remembering that phrase from their childhood.

I’m so glad this piece is finally done! Not 100% pleased by how it turned out, but since this is my first time drawing people (or anything like this), I’ll try not to beat myself up too much.

This is a major spoiler for my fic Stars in Shadow based on RuneScratch’s and B1ueflame’s Darkpath AU. I first came across it some months ago and not only did I fall head-over-heels for it, I’m totally inspired. It’s amazing and I love it!!!

I’m not a huge fan of Imagine Dragons, I admit, but I noticed that in the song “Demons” there are lyrics (especially listed above) that reflect Hiro’s thoughts about his growing relationship with my OC, Anwyn.

About this drawing: I love RuneScratch’s version of older Darkpath Hiro and added one or two tiny details (you have to squint to see them) to make it more my own. He’s supposed to be sixteen in the original AU, but I aged him up to eighteen for my story. I also had him standing in shadow with Anwyn in the light not only to be symbolic but also to hint at my fic’s title.

“Only a few days until we reach the fortress,” a Yama-sized humanoid with greenish-gray skin said to the cyclops-looking-thing with him. “Then we can finally kill Queen Anwyn and be rid of her.”

As they promised to stay in touch, she toyed with the bracelet that Hiro gave her for her eighth birthday. In the months since then, it had become her prized possession. Now that their time together was running out, she felt like an idiot for not getting him some kind of meaningful gift. The only thing she could give him was...

“Hey, Hiro?”

“Yeah?”

Anwyn removed the gold pendant and held it out to her best friend.
