Emo Sixteen/Seventeen year old Hiro Hamada Headcanons
Warning: Mention of topic on sex (he’s aged up). Don’t like aged up characters? Don’t read!
Hiro Hamada spent three months insisting he “didn’t need glasses,” even while squinting at things literally right in front of him.
He tried: Wearing his hoodie strings like blinders, Turning up the brightness on every screen to “compensate”, and Sitting two inches from the whiteboard.
Baymax logged 47 instances of Hiro denying reality.
When he finally got glasses, he sulked for a week…then quietly admitted to Varian: “Okay…fine…I can see your face better now.”
He still complains, but he wears them. He knows they’re forever.
Hiro grew up in San Fransokyo — skyscrapers, neon lights, zero nature.
Dating Varian meant suddenly being exposed to: Dirt, Trees, Bugs…and yes, more bugs.
Hiro hates bugs with the passion of a thousand suns.
Varian taught him that lavender repels most insects, so Hiro now wears lavender cologne and lavender aftershave like its armor.
Hiro pretends it’s “for science,” but Varian knows it’s because Hiro wants to impress him.
Camping became their quiet escape — no city noise, no superhero duties, just them.
On his sixteenth birthday, Hiro asked Aunt Cass: “Can I get piercings? Like…emo ones.” Cass dropped a spoon. Tadashi sighed the sigh of an older brother who has seen too much.
Hiro ended up with: A single black stud, A tiny hoop, and a cartilage piercing he swears “isn’t emo, it’s aesthetic.”
Tadashi (revived thanks to Varian’s moon magic) insisted Hiro learn to drive “like a normal teenager.”
Hiro is…not a normal teenager.
Lessons included: Hiro trying to hack the car’s dashboard, Tadashi yelling “NO TECH UPGRADES WHILE DRIVING”, and Baymax calmly reminding them both to breathe.
Hiro is actually a good driver — he just drives like he’s in a video game.
Baymax, being Baymax, decided Hiro needed comprehensive health education.
He showed age‑appropriate videos about: Puberty, Hygiene, Healthy relationships, Consent, and Emotional safety.
Hiro wanted to sink into the floor. Varian laughed so hard he cried. Baymax ended the lesson with: “I am satisfied with my educational contribution.”
Black hoodie collection: unreasonable.
Sketches inventions at 3 AM while listening to sad rock.
Pretends he’s “not sentimental,” then keeps every note Varian ever gave him.
Has a playlist titled “I’m Fine.”
He is not fine. He’s stressed with exams.
He sighs like a Victorian orphan when asked to do chores.
He pretends he’s edgy but melts whenever Varian touches his hair.
Cass still calls him “sweetie,” and Hiro dies inside every time.
Hiro programs his browser history that wipes itself every night on his laptop after a close call with Aunt Cass (*cough* he watches gay p0rn sometimes *cough*)
His favorite bands are Fall Out Boy, Green Day, and Panic At The Disco.
Hiro is surprisingly good in writing that he won honors for creative writing.
At age sixteen, Hiro traded his flowing cargo shorts for black skinny jeans.
After kissing Varian (or Crow, Varian’s superhero alter ego) in front of a heartbroken Karmi, Hiro gently explains that he has a boyfriend and he doesn’t really mind the name Captain Cutie. That Karmi is great at writing. But surprisingly the next day, Karmi had changed his superhero’s name to a new, more mature name.
Hiro and Karmi are actually writing buddies.
Thanks for reading (and not blowing up my message box about your underage ass that has no business online)!
