Would anyone want to RolePlay in the following setting concept found when you expand the post?
Notes: I rp mainly on discord but am willing to here or instagram if someone is willing to teach me one of those. I can do 1 on 1 or a group if y'all know multipal people interested. I mostly do longer word count Rps. My minimum is 1-2 paragraphs. I like some nice langth though! Setting is made for OCs. Fandom OCs work, we can talk about ways to include them as is or rework them for it if you prefer that.
Hehehe I have been making this setting for years now
This setting is a fairly flexible one. Anything can be changed if it's not to ones taste.
-General Themes-
Green fantasy post apocalypse
-Time frame-
Modern regular earth is when the main event occurred. That can be changed though if you want less or more advanced tech. Rp can take place right at the fall all the way to decades later.
-Lore-
-Stars are dreams in a physical form
-Dreams are conscious entities (Level of intelligence and ability to communicate varies)
-Stars produce a thing dubbed Radiance. Radiance warps and changes things around it to be dream like (Sorta like a fantastical version of radiation). Longer exposure or direct exposure warps faster.
-Stars remain on earth where they landed for the most part. Most are very very small and harmless, but some are very very big.
-Very very rarely, can a star have a organic human or animal like form, though it does happen, and they tend to be the oldest dream types/concepts
-Places where large stars fell are warped environmentally. (deserts with tall glass tower explosions, tundra with snowflakes forever suspended in the air like glitter, a chunk of earth flipped upside down and floating with an upside down tree growing out from the bottom with the roots towards the sky, underwater glowing mushroom cities, Towns with teleporting rooms, etc)
-People, objects, and animals, warped by radiance are called starstruck. The effects of the warping tends to reflect the dream/star they were exposed to and can range wildly in effects.
-People Exposed to radiance or with a strong enough dream, ambition, will, or imagination can become something called a dreamer.
-Dreamers are those with a small amount of control over the world. (Pretty much magic). They are able to still dream, their control is based off their dream/their self.
-Some dreamers can be dream walkers/lucid dreamers. These are people who are consious in their dreams and are paired with a curator.
-A curator is a rare occurrences of a dream still in its own world. They stick near dream walkers for their sanity, and in turn maintain the person's dream and stuff. No one else can dream or is strong enough to maintain one. So its all the curators have.
-Dream walkers can enter eachothers dreams. its awkward though cause you have to like hold hands or make some sort of contact while both sleeping. You can trap soemone in your mind if you wake up while they are in your dreamscape tho
-Dreamscapes match the person's persoanllity, history, goals, etc.
-Stars can be broken or embedded into glass. If one hold the glass as they sleep, they can dream. If one looks into the glass, they can view the glass's dream while awake.
-Water and gems retain radiance easily. So it can also warp you faster. Water becomes shimmer like (See terraria's shimmer, it's pretty much like that)
-History-
For ages, the night sky and the world of dreams have been connected. Space is still the same, as is the planet. Though eventually, someone or something cause the reality of dreams and ours to overlap. A few months before the fall, no one could dream as the connection and flow between us was blocked. Space also becomes strange and all space travel is ceased.
yada yada, months go by and eventually the vale between the two fall. The stars all fall down from the sky destroying the world but leaving alot broken, but still there, just different. The only way to dream now is to be near a star, which is what dreams appeared as when we could look at them in our realm.
-Some optional flavour-
-The magic can work on a 1 movement skill, 1 main skill, and if you are a dream walker then an extra thing. Or something else if prefered
-The sun could exist, or any place not with in range of the light of a star can be eternal night. Plants dont have to be dead though, things are still warped, so plants and animals could be warped to have adpated to that.
-Optional basic species-
Dreamfolk. Which is dream glass revitalized. Grown and carved into a star shape. Dreamfolk are dream glass that can contol sand and acts as a person ore creature from the dream the glass reflects. They are bound to their dreamer, their dreamer also having influance on their shape. They are super rare and hard to come by, broken ones are worn as jewelry or used as heat sourses for things like forges as an activaged dream glass core like this is HOT AF. They produce sand that can put you to sleep. They can make someone dream their dream. Some can do minor illusions. They grow endlessly and often have to remove dream sand from their body to remain a reasonable height. Those with cracked cores can lightly shape shift, as well have more capacity for free will, they however, become obsessed with random things as to cling onto a new self and fall apart alot.
False reapers. A shape shifting fleshy goo that consumes all. A disease born from the clash of realities, its goal is to devour. Some more so then others. They often will take the forms of angles, demons, and other religious figures with the goal to lure people away to consume. Some times family, animals, or objects are also seen. They gain traits of what they have consumed. So some have become passive after eating strong willed people who take it over, or after eating enough dogs for example to just become a regular dog. The less hungry ones tend to be found hidden in cities as thats where the most successful ones are. The more monstrous ones are mostly only found in the wilds.
Stone Ghosts. They are what happens when a false reaper eats dream glass or a dream folk. The goo goes around the crystal and solidifes into a stone. In the sun/starlight/strong uv light, they turn to statues. Otherwise they can walk and move. Their forms remain consistent when out of sunlight. If you add stone to tehm while they are a statue and then remove them from the sun, their form can change and it can become part of them, you can also remove parts this way. They like to mimic human culture and have no connection to the false reaper that they were made from or the dream crystal inside of them. They can control the setting around them and are capible of making dream glass like an oyster makes pearls. The stronger they are at controlling the world around them, the more glass they have flaoting around them and they produce. The glass acts as extra eyes and their memory. If you get ahold of one, you can use their ability to control dreams. They are often hunted down for that purpose.
Any you might have are also welcomed cause its a flexible setting
No One Clearly Intelligent Follower: Gee, that Boomverse stuff sounds interesting! Could you explain it some more in depth?
Me: Why, of course, I’d be happy to! It’s one of my favorite things @tybunnythehellmoose and I concocted in our years of RPing!
Obvious Strawperson: I can’t wait to hear all about it! Also you’re a gorgeous genius.
Me: Yes, yes, I know.
So, the Boomverse is technically a post-apocalyptic fantasy. Magic has returned to our world with... well, with a boom! In the process, it’s clouded the skies and knocked out most existing higher technology (internet, electricity, phones, etc). Civilization broke down and regressed. But another thing that’s happened? The dragons awoke.
They had put themselves into hibernation when magic was snuffed out of the world centuries before. And now that magic has had its vengeance, the dragons have returned to fulfill their purpose.
Y’see, dragons are, themselves, magical creatures. Their magic is different from the wild magic and the magic that humans born post-Boom are suddenly being able to wield, but it runs along the same basic foundations. Dragons can teach humans - those who have the affinity for it anyway - how to do magic.
Just one problem: dragons can’t speak. Not in any human language, anyway. But what they can do is to find a kindred spirit amongst the humans and bond with them. The bond is for life (literally, as if either partner dies, the other does as well - good deal for the human, given that dragons are damned hard to kill; less good deal for the dragon, given how squishy humans are) and it allows the two to communicate telepathically and understand one another.
Thus, the dragon can use this bonded human to relay their teachings to the would-be mage. That’s why these bonded humans are called Voices - they are the dragon’s voice, after all. Each dragon can only have one Voice.
But teaching mages is sort of the dragons’ higher purpose. It’s almost, almost on the level of a biological need. Some dragons have little regard for humans of any sort and simply refuse to ever take a Voice. Most of them wait to take a Voice until they feel they need one. (Some seek out Voices as soon as they’re able!) But, as a whole, dragons feel like part of what makes them better than mere animals is that higher calling to teach magic and help stabilize the world. Few of them want to refuse it entirely.
A mage is born with the ability to do magic (and only children born after the Boom have this ability), though they generally aren’t doing it straight out of the womb. Technically every mage has the same range of capabilities, but, in practice, people tend to gravitate towards certain fields. There are certain abilities they just seem to innately pick up on, for whatever reason.
The problem is that casting spells can be... dangerous. Especially when you don’t know what you’re doing and extra-especially when you’re a child/teenager/anyone more prone to emotional outbursts. A frightened mage might lash out at their fear, for example, and Bam! You just lit your brother on fire, without even meaning to.
People born without magic usually fear mages and either kill them or cast them out of their settlements. Mages usually come to fear themselves and what they’re capable of. But if they can find a dragon and its Voice, there’s hope.
Most people don’t know why the dragons are back, and they don’t know that dragons can help them - and usually even want to help them. Dragons are terrifyingly huge, and every now and then, you’ll see a human riding one, talking with it like a friend or a sibling. Long story short (too late), most Voices don’t live in settlements either, because it’s just too strange and scary for the normies.
And dragons must train mages because a trained mage is capable of dispelling Chaos Zones - areas of wild magic. You avoid chaos zones because most people who walk into one don’t come back out the other side. Those who do come out... changed. Usually not in good ways. The chaos zones drift slowly in certain areas, but they’re not sentient; they’re just pockets of magic gone bonkers, like a lump in the fabric of reality. A trained mage can smooth that out, spread the magic out evenly through the landscape. (Dragons and anyone riding on them can go through chaos zones without effect.)
Trained mages can also use their magic to clear the skies. The world’s been a series of cold, grayscale days for a long time with that cloud cover. The dragons want magic and science to peacefully coexist, but so long as there’s still that cloud cover and those chaos zones, it’s not likely to happen.
The following is a setting description for my Advanced lit para RP. Seeking partner details at the end of the post.
Noctath: Capitol of a thousand nations.
Emerging from thick mists on a barren sea are the tips of impossibly high skyscrapers. Before too long one will see airships lazily drifting high above the waves, moving fluidly to dock at the sky ports which only seem to exist at the tops of the highest buildings. The architecture combines a hundred styles from every culture on the planet, even those long since dead. Beautiful structures of stone and iron fill the metropolis with a sense of storied history.
The street level of the city lacks much of the majesty the skyline shows off from far away. Densely packed city streets are filled with the bustle of working-class citizens. The city is home to an active industry of textiles and artisan crafts. The lower classes seem to have every race present, each more bedraggled than the last. Horse-drawn carriages hurry down cobbled streets as merchants sell unidentifiable meats from roadside stalls.
Ascending above the streets isn't as simple as ascending a stairway or using one of the fancy hydraulic elevation platforms. The caste system here is ironclad. Getting to the higher levels of the city requires one to have proper paperwork and purpose. The upper classes are not fans of interlopers. Once one makes it to the causeways and rooftop gardens of the higher districts, one finds oneself free of the constant smog of the lower city. The packed masses far below can be heard as a gentle din from balconies where well-dressed socialites play their complex interpersonal games and deal in the lives of those they see as beneath them. It is rumored that dark warlocks perform magical rituals on commoners to make them into polymorphed slaves.
~~Noctath is a dark Victorian steam punk setting. It is big on themes of social inequality, corruption, and political intrigue.~~
I am currently looking for a long term literate RP partner (18+ please) to write a power imbalance romance RP set in this dark universe called "The Familiar Bond". I have plenty of experience and can narrate and write for npcs. My preferred RP method is Discord (Snacks_The_Bunny) but I can receive messages on Tumblr as well.)

Whichever one wins will be the school setting for this era of Generation Nova. The rest will be divvied out to the rival schools across Sola
✨OMG I'm such a ditz! 😵💫 I've been working on trying to prepare content to introduce the world of Generation Nova, that I totally spaced on posting the poll!
While preferably I'd have out a bit more of an introduction to Generation Nova and Solara Bay, life gets super busy! So, I will go ahead and just post the poll and see who wants to help us create our setting and Build Our School!☀️
You'll be helping decide choices, like who their principal is, what's the biggest rumor, and the school mascot!
I will be closing the poll Friday, May 9th at 11:59pm PST!
-- I've decided to go through my writing and really zone in. I've already gone through a couple of chapters of old fanfics I've done years ago and edited them. And this is a high fantasy setting that I'm continuing to work on and make progress. I wish stress and depression wouldn't short me out.
Take care of yourself, ya'll!
Enjoy the blurb! -- Rosy
Vannamund
The continent of Vannamund is a richly diverse region filled with a vast red oak forest, cerulean seacoasts, and a treacherous mountain range with a dormant volcano. Its flora and fauna over the centuries have grown wilder. For example, in the forest lies a darker, more enriched area of resources, but the carnivores there have grown to larger sizes while the flora itself seems to be alive and highly aggressive. This part of the continent's region earned itself the name The Somber Oak due to the many lives it claimed over its existence. Generations of stories passed down regards the forest's magic running untamed and driving out even the fiercest of nature's guardians, the elves. At the state of it now, The Somber Oak changes, thrive, and feeds through blood-soaked roots of the dead. An ever-changing labyrinth that only the fae has survived - being both protector and keeper.
It is thanks to the fae that these crimson oaks do not run free to spread and spawn their carnivorous ways onto the mainland and devour both life and magic as they see fit.
The sea bordering the entirety of the continent has become so vivid in color that it appears to be glowing under clear moonlight. The world's magic saturating and enhancing the sea life, and its waters, within the depths led to its name, The Vibrant Sea. The sea is a vital resource for magic, economy, and survival.
In the early days of man, humankind had nomadic tendencies across the open seas as they used ships and sea coves as ways of making homes before the Viridian Age had forced them to dock into permanent settlements on land. This event had caused the great divide between the human clans with an agreement for each one settling in a section of the continent; whether it'd be for mountain, coast, grassland, or the savage forest itself - it does not matter.
Up top and secured by a mountain range of rock, clay, and the ever-useful gardestone lies the dormant volcano, St. Algarath. The heated pools of spring water lay at its roots with vegetated growth makes more a popular tourist attraction while also maintaining the locale of one of the four human settlements, Brimfyre. The once-seafolk settled here and made their growth through a masterwork of iron, gold, silver, and a fine enchanted steelwork using gardestone. This natural resource allowed the town to remain safe from the volcano's aggressive times and cools them from its searing summers by providing the proper magical catalyst.
The elves made merry along the coastlines in their resilient civilizations of Orco in the east and the windy grasslands of Motta in the south with a long line of generational artisans, bards, and magical duelists known as Pied Pipers. They still weave tales of their ancient history about their once-benevolent Ambe Madri that forsaken them to be devoured in her blood-red roots and sang songs of the better days where all could roam free.
