The Good AUmens AU Fest is an event of over 100 authors and artists, all producing new alternate universe works based on a prompt that was assigned to them. They’ve been at work since early March and the works will debut during the month of June.

Dean releases Sam's collar, pressing bloody kisses to Sam's mouth and face.

“Frost the damn cupcakes.”Jason points at the cupcakes with his spatula. He’s gripping the handle of it so tight they’re all sort of amazed it hasn’t snapped in half yet.

“I thought you said I wasn’t allowed to help.” Dick says  from his chair positioned right on the edge of the entryway to his kitchen.

“Anyone who is not named Richard John Grayson better start frosting those damn cupcakes.” Jason glares around the room at Tim and Damian.

“Tt, I don’t see why we couldn’t just buy cupcakes. This is hardly worth my time.”

With a sigh Tim grabs the bowl of red frosting and starts slathering it on cupcakes. “Well, this is for your school’s bake sale. It would be cheating if you had someone else make them for you.”

Damian pulls a face but grabs his own knife and starts meticulously applying frosting to the top of his own cupcakes. “I still don’t think we needed his help.”

“Well,” Jason makes a disgusted face at the fondant flower he fucked up and throws it in a slowly growing graveyard of fondant, “you all called me and begged me to come help after you started the second failed batch ON FIRE.”

All of them shared the same guilty look and pointedly did not look at Jason.

“I can’t believe none of you can bake fucking cupcakes.” Jason says under his breath.

“I’m surprised you’re so good at it, Jay.” Dick leans forward, trying to get a better angle to see the flowers Jason is making.

“Don’t you dare put any part of your body in this kitchen, Grayson.” Jason doesn’t even look up from what he’s doing.

Dick pouts anyway.

“Sometimes Roy and I used to bake together.” Jason says it softly. “Sometimes he just needed to keep his hands busy and he wanted company but he didn’t want me messing with whatever he was building so we’d bake instead.”

Dick’s pout turns into a soft smile. He glances at Tim and Damian who are trying their best to not show their own smiles. It’s so rare they get to see this vulnerable part of Jason so they do try to cherish it when they do.

“Alright then,” Dick pushes his chair back dramatically and pointedly does not step into the kitchen. “Since I’m not allowed to help in the kitchen I’m going to go on a coffee run.”

“Frozen lemonade for me.” Jason shoots him a quick smile before turning his full concentration (including concentration tongue) on the flowers.

“I would also like a frozen lemonade.” Damian says reluctantly.

“An iced coffee for me. It’s sweltering in here.” Tim flashes Dick a brief smile. He has frosting smeared on his cheek. It’s pretty adorable.

10. Favorite movies from your childhood.

FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR was my very favorite movie from the moment it hit the theaters until I was, I don’t know, 15 or something. We had it on VHS and I watched it all the time.

THE PRINCESS BRIDE which I was very into when it came out b/c I thought it was romantic and wonderful, then I didn’t watch it for years, watched it in my 20s and was SHOCKED! SHOCKED I SAY to discover it was also really fucking funny. (So I still love it to this day)

i loved writing the chapter where cas and dean have a lil date and go to the bookstore/walking around and being cute with each other. it was soft and fun to make them happy for once in that fic lol

Then they get a phonecall from their partners phone, despite the fact their partner is right there in the other room, making a lot of noise. When character A answers their phone their frantic partner is on the other end of the line, telling them to run.

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.

I mean... This is kind of reaching back, but Snarry has always creeped me out. I just. No thank you. Generally I’m all for ship and let ship but Snarry will get the side-eye from me.

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.

I mean, Destiel, obviously, and the related Cockles (though not really much in fic form, just flailing). I’ve also been intrigued lately by Destiny, Denny, and DCJ. In non-Dean-centric ships, I have a soft spot for Saileen and... um what’s Jody/Donna’s ship squish name, Jonna? Anyway, that.

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)

I’m not entirely sure what this means... I have lots of headcanons. Do you want my headcanon that Dean started experimenting with guys while drunk while Sam was off at Stanford after John started letting him work more of his own cases? But that until Castiel he always assumed it was just a wild drunken sex thing, he didn’t actually want to be with a guy, not like that? Because that’s a pretty solid one. All in all my headcanons are broad and mutable and open to experimentation. (Just like Dean hue hue hue.)

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?

Okay in spite of my previous answer, I’m joining lots of others (including @ladyofthursday from whom I reblogged this) on the hill of bisexual Dean Winchester.

I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?

.... Eeeehhhhhhh I guess it could be said that Tumblr is responsible for my absconding from the Sherlock fandom, sort of, since it was only through the fandom I found here that I got my hopes up SO HIGH that season 4 dashed them so hard. But. Ultimately I don’t think that’s what this question is asking. I haven’t started disliking any fandoms because of what I saw on tumblr, really.

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?

Uhhhh... I don’t.... think.... so....???

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)

So, I know a lot of people love Crowley, but he’s never been high on my list. But when he was used well and respected by the writers, he was an AWESOME blend of comedy and power, the kind of snake-oil salesman who can be a really fun narrative tool, since he’s only out for himself -- except when he’s not.

4. Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?

Oh goodness. I’m not very good at NoTPs. I can be convinced by just about anything if it’s well-written - but I have found, here and there, a few that squick me. Usually it’s any character with a parental figure - eg, any of TFW with John or Bobby, or (in the other direction) with Claire, Krissy, Alex, etc. Also anything that negates a canon queer person’s queerness - like any of the guys seriously with Charlie, though I do quite like (and have written) marriages of convenience with her which can be used to explore what counts as love/arousal/attraction/a ‘real marriage’ in the society in question. And I recently found another one where I noped out of a fic with quite a promising premise, because it had Toni/Sam - apparently not in the foreground, but as a ‘perfect couple’ sort of background to the main Destiel angst. I found that, especially after all the gaslighting and violations and torture that Sam has been through, I didn’t want to read a treatment of that relationship in which it wasn’t acknowledged as... well, gaslighting and violation and torture. And I’d have to be in a very specific mood (and trust the author well) even for that. (Caveat: I didn’t actually read the fic, so the author might have done it well, this is just what it looked like from tags and summary.)

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

I don’t know how they’d do that, since (if we’re talking ‘they wrote it badly and I didn’t like it’) there are always more authors. :) Insofar as ‘becuase there’s so much fandom wank about it’ goes... well, not quite, since I’m fairly well insulated from it, but the vitriol from some small corners of Wincest shippers against Castiel and Destiel have made me a bit warier of Wincest. Honestly, I love any combination of Team Free Love, but I feel like that particular fandom war has sort of... drawn the lines and divided us from each other? So, eg, most authors I know write more Destiel than Wincest, most fic rec lists that turn up on my dash are Destiel-flavoured, and I have acquired a reluctant sort of wariness on Wincest-centred blogs (and sometimes even fics) until I know they aren’t going to hate on Cas. I don’t say that it’s fair of me to feel that way but it’s just that kind of acquired ‘caution, here may be nastiness’ feeling that you can’t really control.
