The Good AUmens AU Fest is an event of over 100 authors and artists, all producing new alternate universe works based on a prompt that was assigned to them. They’ve been at work since early March and the works will debut during the month of June.

Summary: More than three centuries have passed since the Apocalypse-That-Wasn’t, and Crowley and Aziraphale are still on the run from Heaven and Hell. In a dystopian cyberpunk future, Aziraphale begins to decode an enigmatic ancient text tucked in the depths of cyberspace, leading to disastrous consequences. As Aziraphale’s divinity begins to fade and Crowley’s occult desires intensify, both must fight to stay safe and together. When mechanically modified humans–armed with the combined knowledge from their old bosses and weapons of this new age–begin to target them, Aziraphale and Crowley are forced to decide if it all follows an Ineffable Plan or if their old sides have wised up as to what can be created and destroyed in this brave new world.

fic rec! 16K ineffable husbands, AU ending to the show. H/C, with a t+ graphic rating I guess? But somehow the author makes it pretty.

Summary: Three years after Adam banned angels and demons from Earth, Crowley and Aziraphale meet again. Aziraphale as the captured successful general, and Crowley as the demon who’s gotten very good at ripping angels apart.

Comments: Man did this fic make me go through an emotional journey. While there aren’t a lot of plot twists, there were a lot of emotional twists. I thought it was first one-siding pinning, but nope, totally mutual. And oh, that’s a lot of torture, are we gonna see a caring Crowley? Nope, skipping straight to rescue and let’s not think about that fact that Crowley’s weapons are made of angel bones, shall we? And oh, not only are they escaping, but they’re being followed? Doing things all of Hell haven’t yet? and there’s cuddling of like, three different types??

The h/c is very well balanced here. Both of them are hurt, help each other, get hurt again, but still are bad ass. It will take a while for the image of Aziraphale’s hand melting while he welds a damned weapon to leave my head. So to the image of Crowley subjecting himself to meathooks, so Aziraphale has a way to hang on when he’s a snake the size of a galaxy. There’s so many BAMF moments in this story, and they are written beautifully. And there are just as many comfort moments, Crowley leaching hellfire from Aziraphale, Aziraphale using holy light to keep Crowley warm.
