now to watch a bunch of disney movies tonight in a desperate brain purging marathon only to still fall asleep to super vivid nightmares about evil rooms trying to kill you.

What it is: Once you’ve entered the Escape Room, your dying wish will be to get the hell out of there. Keeping it cool is an absolute must though, since you and your friends have got an hour to think outside the box and endure the rising tension whilst solving a great deal of mind-boggling riddles. It’s an exciting, surrealistic, intense and unpredictable experience which is definitely bucket list worthy.

Why it is cool: Another day at the office? Fantasizing about a life more exciting than your own? Sighing theatrically whilst finishing that never-ending stack of paperwork? Everyday life can be such a bore sometimes, it’s only natural to be guilty of a little escapism these days. Playing on your Xbox is fun, sure, but experiencing something game-like in real life, having to actually use your mind and be physically locked up and try to get out, isn’t that more worthy of your time?

Why it has future growth potential: Not unlike laser gaming and paintballing, entering the Escape Room is a break from your everyday routine, something you can do with friends, something unusual, something thrilling and fun to do. As long as birthday parties, family get-togethers and teambuildings remain existent, things like these will keep attracting an audience, maybe not masses of people, but an audience nonetheless.
