dude. duuuuudeee i think about this all the time like i think about how fragile their starting point is like there's a million different ways they don't even make it out of their first year knowing each others like sometimes seth just dies and they never meet or adrian doesn't go to PSU and they never meet or they do and then it doesn't work out or adrian dies in space or seth dies during his pro career and its just!!! theres so many ways it doesn't happen!!!

in the actual canon universe i think adrian does still go to PSU, (the closest they ever get is him seeing seth's memorial outside the foxes' stadium) but an alt version i think about a lot is the one where he actually does go to penn state as planned, his mom doesn't get arrested and his dad doesn't kill himself (not yet anyway) and so adrian goes to penn state and he does everything he planned and he's all set and it goes perfectly and then two years in he drops out because the pressure crushes him. like he just can't stand it. so he drops out of school and he thinks that's the end of it and long story short he winds up working as an apprentice of sorts at an air base and becomes a test pilot and never goes to space but spends his whole life working with the real machines he loves

that said, and as i've said before he is somewhere on All the spectrums. i can't really see him forming a romantic relationship with anyone because even with seth it's like. yes and also no? like i don't know if there's even a word for what they have going on but the combination of semi-forced proximity and routine insulting each other kind of sets off this very specific chain reaction that allows them to become what they do. and that i don't think can really be replicated in any other context. few other people would spend enough time on adrian to know him like that, and once he's around his planes 24/7 he's not thinking about anything else.

ok like so this is an idea i had i think about a year ago and i talked to gia about it and we Discussed things together. it all comes from this naturally

the idea is similar to that of blood in the water my aaronriko au that is ironically kind of dead in the water (mostly, as much as any of my wips are dead). but basically aaron gets convicted for killing drake and sentenced to 20 years in jail for second degree murder. after, people are allowed to come say goodbye before he gets taken away, and the people who come to see him are abby, wymack, kevin and nicky. andrew, notably, absent. the last person who comes to see aaron is ichirou who offers him a deal: serve his sentence outside of jail working instead for ichirou, or have his charge re evaluated to first degree murder and get the death penalty. long story short i think aaron winds up as the new butcher? ichirou needs people he can control easily, as well as another way to keep neil in line (more effective if he'd picked the other twin but yk)

neil did become part of it at some point, i think he did something and ichirou kidnapped him? as a warning? and aaron was there and there was two confusion and yeah it was wack. i should return to it actually
