Bridget Regan really does her big one keeping toxic sapphic character/ enemies to lovers tropes alive and I don’t like she gets enough credit for it
Noone does it like them.
Does she kill her lover’s dad (who is her husband!), and get her locked up in an insane asylum, then later on abduct her? Yes. Is she a dangerous crime lord who can’t be seen in public with her own face? Yes, of course. But they’re even, because she’s the one who ends up dead in the end. So it’s fine.

Seeing JTV stuff again now having a Bridget bias, roisa was legit the perfect example of toxic yuri and executed flawless from start to finish
I just realized that there is a relationship that serves as a perfect counterpart to Rhaenicent. Seriously, Rhaenicent fans would love this ship I'm about to introduce to you (I love them myself) ! Jane The Virgin ? Rose & Luisa (Roisa) ? The ultimated toxic yuri for me !
We start a priori with a mother-in-law (Rose) and daughter-in-law (Luisa) relationship. The mother-in-law is ironically redheaded. She is married to a man officially older than her, whom she manipulates for her own ends and whom she also married for her own personal gain. She knew her daughter from before, and fell in love with her before marrying the guy. Later, Rose's husband / Luisa's father dies, killed by Rose by the way (we remember the rumor of Alicent having killed Viserys in F&B). Rose happens to be a crime lord who will find herself several times against Luisa's family (a form of war in short), Luisa must therefore compose between her love for her ex-mother-in-law and her family.
No, really, for Rhaenicent's shippers, there are like parallels, right ?!
And obviously, since we're in a toxic relationship, it ends badly (spoiler : Rose die).
But it's still a super well-written relationship / romance. And the only one using the stepmother & stepdaughter in love trope that I could find and that I love.
I think this is a great equivalent for Rhaenicent fans. A relationship of the same type overall (but well written this time).
No offense to Rhaenicent shippers, but I really hate this ship... I think it's bad written in itself and queerbaiting (but I will love see the actress in true modern romance together).
However, Roisa is a ship, I think, that can please everyone in comparison.
Again, it's a very well written F / F (toxic yuri) relationship that ironically has similarities with Rhaenicent.
In fact I recommend it to those who follow me, fans of this type of toxic romance, including Rhaenicent shippers because this relationship could totally be their thing, given the parallels that can be made.
jane the virgin may have fucked me over with my ship but who else can say that the actress of their ship are STILL so close after years of not working together like i do like i won with yara and bridget
