Damian: *Sees a bloated, decomposing corpse, covered in fish guts* Ah, the likeness to my brother, Timothy, is uncanny.
It's just surprising to me that reading Robin 93 I'm able to feel Tim's stress? That sounds weird, but I'm always thinking about how easily stressed Tim can get, how being a vigilant can put a weight on him and we can feel that through the issues. Heās constantly overthinking and worrying so much about whatās going to happen that makes him feel stressed.
And in this panel weāre able to see that people around him knows heās a busy person, but itās needed? Is it necessary for Tim Drake to put everyone else aside in order to stop crime in Gotham? Does he need to replace Bruce?
Iāll answer to you: no. He doesnāt need to be supervigilant about everything that happens in Gotham, but he is because thatās how he is.
Also Tim doesnāt know when to ask for help (thatās why the beginning of Red Robin is so good because portrays this problem very well). Maybe this trait is a result of his childhood neglect problem, where Tim needed to care of himself. Also we can say that heās worried about not disapointing people, so Tim doesnāt ask for help because he thinks that if he solves the problem by himself, thatās going to make people proud of him.
And Tim is a overthinker. He canāt stay present at the moment because heās overthinking about what could possibly happen if he gets lazy. Timās not able to enjoy a moment with the girl he likes at the movies because his mind is catastrophyzing or obsessing about the evil plans of criminals.
Tim Drake is so much more of thatĀ ānerd Robinā that fanon likes to write in fanfictions or draw in fanarts. Heās a āsymbolā of what child neglect can do to a kid and how much this problem affects a person. And thatās why I donāt like (but Iām curious) about Tim becoming Batman. Being Batman would exhaust him mentally and thatās perceptive. Tim canāt handle being Batman not because heās not capable, but he would destroy himself in order to fullfil Bruceās legacy and to protect Gotham city.
Timās also the image of what being a vigilant can do to a person. Weāre always seeing how awesome and incredible it is to be able to jump through rooftops and bend the law, but at the same time it robs you of yourself. Tim canāt handle lying to the people he loves, he feels stressed about it.
Of course Tim has strong pointsāĀ heās smart but not a genius, heās empathetic and can understand other peopleās problems, has a sense of humour and deeply loves and wants to protect his loved ones. And thatās what makes him relatable! He feels burdened and stressed about being Robin and disapointing Bruce, but he also likes to be Robin. Itās sad that nowadays authors can't seem to understand Timās personality, but I hope that in the future he gets a good solo comic and goes back to being the Tim Drake we love and can relate too.
The Batman/Batfam Fandom: Damian is a feral baby! So spicy and mean and independent! He's so badass he can do anything himself! He doesn't need anyone! He should be humbled!
Robin #2: Damian acts like a little shit. Is cocky and arrogant, acts like he's too good for help and obviously is being set up to have his teeth pushed in yet again because someone needs to knock this kid down a peg or 20 in order to finally give him genuine character development.
