This is a wonderful cover of Daft Punk’s epic song, and I really like the rap part in the beginning. I headcannon that it describes how Viktor felt at the start when he was basically waiting for Yuuri to ask him to be his heat partner.

Ocean Eyes (Astronomyy Edit) - Billie Eilish

Victor’s face is so close to Yuuri’s. He can see all the nuances in his eyes - the cerulean mixed with the azure. He can see the dark circles underneath that belie those bright eyes. Below that, Victor’s lips are plush and calling Yuuri’s own. “I want…” Yuuri starts. There’s a great many things he wants. One of them being Victor. (Chapter 5).

This is a bit more self-explanatory. I mean, who wouldn’t fall for Viktor’s eyes (or Viktor in general)? The person in the song was talking about their fear of falling in love with those ocean eyes, as well, which I think describes Yuuri to a T.

Again, pretty self-explanatory? I couldn’t choose just one scene from the fic to go with this song because there are just way too fucking many to choose from lolol. This was the song that pushed me into making this playlist, and I think this song goes nicely with all the times Viktor was jealous of Yuuri’s potential heat partners, Phichit, and anybody else that wants to have a piece of that sexy katsudon. :)) Jealous!Viktor gIVES ME LIFE, TBH.

...When Victor’s coaching him, Yuuri can separate his feelings: he’s allowed to draw on his affection for the man, the reverence of his skating, because it only fuels him to work harder and to prove his worth to Victor. Yet, if he were to have sex with him, pretending as if he doesn’t have strong feelings, Yuuri surely thinks he’d die. Because as soon as Yuuri has that, has Victor, body and mind, he would never let that go. (Chapter 6).

Man, sometimes I just wanna rip my hair off my head with how Oblivious™ Katsuki Yuuri is, but what’s even more frustrating is that I actually understand where he’s coming from. Yes, I think that Yuuri is allowed to protect himself from something that he thinks could potentially destroy his heart, but it’s also hard when you know he and Viktor are fucking perfect together and Yuuri fails to realize that. Oh, well.

Rather Be With You - Sinead Harnett

...Akio was right - he can’t spend his heat with anyone besides Victor. He’s too hung up on him. He’s too attached to him that, right now, he wouldn’t be able to comfortably or safely share his heat with someone else. (Chapter 10).

This scene in Chapter 10 was one of my favourites in the fic because this was a huge realization to have for someone like Yuuri who’s often in over his head. And it gave me hope that maaaaaybe he’s finally gonna ask Viktor to share his heat. We all know what happened after that, though. I mean, goddammit Yuuri, jUST FUCKING ASK VIKTOR.

Too Close - Alex Clare

And it feels like I am just too close to love you, There's nothing I can really say. I can't lie no more, I can't hide no more, Got to be true to myself. And it feels like I am just too close to love you, So I'll be on my way.

“I can’t do this, Yuuri. I can’t stay here.” Victor turns, and throws one of Maccachin’s toys into the box as well.

Yuuri’s suddenly crying. He clenches at his chest where it feels so tight, hot tears rolling down his cheeks.

“I can’t stay here,” Victor mutters as he bends down to pick up his slippers and throw them into the box with everything else. “I can’t be in this room, next to yours. I can’t listen to you go through a heat, not with someone, not alone. I can’t.” (Chapter 11).

HOLY SHIT THIS CHAPTER. I screamed for a solid 5 minutes after I finished reading it. I immediately thought of Too Close afterwards, it sounded much too like Viktor in this chapter to me.

Not Afraid Anymore - Halsey

Victor may not feel deeply for him, he may only be in this as a way to share another Omega heat, but he may also want something more from this; he may want to continue afterwards, and if there’s even a slight possibility of something afterwards, Yuuri won’t hesitate to take the risk.

“Yes,” he says slowly, “I want you to share my heat, Victor.” There’s a relief that comes with saying the words aloud. (Chapter 12).

Personally I think the fifty shades movie (and book) is fucking shit but the soundtrack is tHE BOMB, and this song is just so YCPfE!Yuuri when he decides that, fuck everything, he’s gonna share his heat with Viktor. One of my most favourite moments in the fic. 10/10 would read again.

Undisclosed Desires - Muse

“You’ll have to tell me all the things you imagined me doing,” Victor tells him. “Because I want to give those to you. It’s quite something to get what you’ve been dreaming about.” (Chapter 24).

I love Muse and I just couldn’t resist including this song in this list. :)) For me, this song summarizes Viktor’s feelings toward sharing Yuuri’s heat. Sure, Viktor may also have a lot of a few selfish reasons for being with Yuuri during his heat, but I think he really does want to satisfy Yuuri and make his heat enjoyable.

Focus - H.E.R.

“Don’t you dare text him again,” Victor tells him [...]. “Delete his number. Don’t think of anyone but me.” (Chapter 25).

“Why you smiling?” He slurs. He traces a finger along the edge of Victor’s lips where they’re curled upwards. “I’m a mess. That’s not good.”

Victor hums, a deep sound in his chest. “Maybe not. But this way, you’re mine. No one else to distract you. You’re just focussed on me and my dick. It’s what I wanted.” (Chapter 27).

I think the song lyrics speak for Viktor in those Chapter 25 & 27 scenes. Ah, poor Viktor. He just wants Yuuri to focus on him. </3

PILLOWTALK - ZAYN

“Were you. Texting. Shoji.” Victor asks in a hard voice. He pulls the towel from around his shoulders and throws it across the room. He’s completely naked, and Yuuri can’t help but glance downwards. “Yuuri!” Victor barks.

“N-No.” Yuuri stutters out.

“Not convincing.” Victor says, stepping forwards onto the mattress.

The way the bed dips under Victor spurs Yuuri into action. Even if it isn’t Shoji, he doesn’t want Victor to see the conversation he and Phichit were having. Finding out how Yuuri feels, from a text no less, might ruin the week, and the only thing he can think of to stop Victor from grabbing his phone, is distracting him. In less than a second he’s on his feet and pressing his lips against Victor’s in a bruising kiss. (Chapter 25).

I am guessing that Yuuri and Viktor’s sort of fight in Chapter 25 isn’t going to be the last one with how dense they both are. :)) And this line in the song: “It’s our paradise and it’s our war zone” sounds so heat week Viktuuri to me.

The heat week isn’t over yet as of posting this, but I headcannon that either Yuuri or Viktor (or both) would feel the same way as the person in this song. In the fic so far, Yuuri is still trying not to think about what will happen after his heat, but I sure as hell hope that he and Viktor would talk about their feelings for each other and not spend like 15 more chapters trying to forget that the heat happened because I can totally see that happening

Latch - Disclosure ft. Sam Smith

This last song is an anticipation of the happy ending we gotta pressure the author to give our boys a happy ending hahaha so I included it here. Also because if when Yuuri and Viktor are finally a couple I can see them as being the clingiest fucking couple ever, and people would be careful to stay within a 10-mile radius of these two because they’re so happy and in love with each other that it’s a bit gross. :)))

There were a lot of songs that I scrapped because I prefer my playlists 10-12 songs long, and also because I wanted to keep the chill beats vibe thing of this playlist (idk how to explain it lol but you’ll understand once you listen). But if anyone’s interested, I could put up a separate playlist for those songs, so let me know~
