i find “fandom bicycle” characters (aka characters who get shipped with everyone) very interesting because they usually fall into one of two wildly different categories:

1. they’re very charismatic and/or have chemistry with almost everyone they interact with so they are very shippable.

2. they have very little real canon personality so you can sort of project whoever you want onto them and it works in a ship.

(the secret third option is that they’re just kind of a slut.)

When all my favorite characters are the fandom bicycles so I eat good every night.

Has anyone else noticed that you can often tell which character a given ATLA fan stans just by looking at who they ship with Zuko?

Zutarians are pretty universally Katara stans

Aang stans tend to ship Zukaang almost as much as they ship Kataang

Mai stans are fairly well known for their belief that Maiko is the only acceptable ship for either character

Lots of Azula stans are also Zucest shippers.

Most Zukka shippers are Sokka stans.

Literally the only exception I can think of is Toph, because there are a lot of Toph stans and most of them do not ship Toko—although a great deal do seem very invested in their platonic friendship.
