Red Velvet smiled at the little puppy in the window display. Internally, he knew the pet store at the mall was an awful place for a pup to be kept, but the little cutie in the window caught his eye, so he just haaaad to look.
"Hello, darling~" a gentle voice cooed as an arm wrapped around his prosthetic.
Red Velvet blinked and looked down at the soft eyed, white and green haired young man beside him. "Do I —?"
He smiled at Red Velvet, "I was so worried you'd forgotten our date — please pretend you know me." The boy whispered under his breath.
Red Velvet was immediately on edge and he spotted a group of musician-looking types staring at them.
Red Velvet put his hand over his date's and smiled, "Nonsense dear, I was simply distracted by the puppies. You know I have a soft spot for them."
The boy giggled and began to pull him, "Well come on, we don't want to be late to our reservation."
Red Velvet let the young man pull him to the sit down restaurant right outside the mall and the pair stopped just inside the doors.
"Sorry about that," He sighed, "My ex was with our old friend group and I...I didn't want to seem like some kind of pathetic loser..."
"Not to worry." Red Velvet shrugged, "I had nothing going on today."
"Did I damage your arm? If I had known it was a prosthetic —,"
Red Velvet waved off his concern, "It's fine."
The boy blushed and fidgeted, "I'm Clover, by the way he stuck out his hand.
"Red Velvet." Red Velvet smiled and shook his hand in return.
