Bjorn Aronson “Frontierland” (1955)

Entering and exiting Disneyland (as well as later parks) guests are funneled through what Walt Disney envisioned as akin to the lobby of a movie theater, where posters attract moviegoers to current and upcoming features. The first posters were designed by graphic artist Bjorn Aronson, who used the silk-screen printing technique to create “large posters bright, colorful, and more importantly, attention grabbing.” 1

Aronson designed travel posters, “large, silk-screened graphics displayed at train depots, bus stations, and airports that could be read quickly and easily in a fast-paced society.” 1

Aronson’s large (54"x 36") posters are highly sought after, fetching large sums. The Casa de Fritos poster is particularly rare, available only in smaller facsimiles.
