this video is about the violence of normativity
My last nights (or early morning, depends on what you count 3 am as) revelation where I finally found the childhood game I sas searching for for over a year and a half still holds a strong feeling of that nice “nostalgia fuzz” in my chest.
Both my brother and sister had visceral reactions when I showed them gameplay of it; my brother stated that he “played the game so much, it gave him nightmares for a long time”, and my sister gasped loudly, said she remembers it, and then after about ten seconds of silence stated “I hated this game, it scared me.” so it’s nice to know that the game left a strong impression on all three of us.
I was so close to finding it sooner, since I discovered RagnarRox about half-a-year or maybe a year ago, and his first Forgotten Gems video was on the game I was looking for. I just never got around to going far enough back in to his older videos to find it.
So here is RagnarRox, one of my current fav creators, summing up a game that strongly resonated with me as a child.
Highly recommend the YouTube channel RagnarRox, if anyone is interested in watching meticulously put-together video essays covering darker games, films, etc.
Currently listening to and watching the BEST compilation featuring the horror game Rule of Rose that I have EVER seen. It’s true quality and I’m looking forward to watching more from him.
I guess this is kinda random but the channel is very impressive so far. A lot of effort is being put into these videos, and the editing is en pointe.
