You've learned a lot by doing this, but you've also been wondering about the justification of science itself. You want to be certain that the results you've discovered are reliable and won't soon be replaced with entirely different conclusions.

So you start reading philosophy. Here the concerns seem more primary, more focused on the issue of what it is to be a subjective being trying to understand a world. You quickly find yourself reading not about science or its justifications, but about knowledge and its possible foundations. This feels necessary, for how else could you truly understand anything at all?

You want to be able to hold everything together at once. You want to see how the parts form a single, coherent whole. But the more you read, the more complex the problem of knowledge seems to be, and you're no longer certain there are any final answers. You keep reading and reading, but it doesn't feel like you're making any progress.

A veces el humor es la mejor forma de señalar lo ridículo que se espera de nosotras. El humor también es una forma de resistencia.

Among all the “advantages” they try to sell us fat girls about being thin, sometimes laughing is the only sane thing to do. 🙂‍↕️

Sometimes humor is the best way to point out how ridiculous the expectations placed on us are. Humor is also a form of resistance.

Socionormativity

the idea that all beings desire, or would be happier in, social relationships, community involvement, and adhering to what is considered "the norm". It also supports the idea that social constructs (i.e. time, gender, money, morality) are immutable truths, as opposed to subjective concepts which vary by time period and culture. It pathologizes those who deviate from those norms. Oppressor catering and exclusionism are associated with socionormativity.

Examples of socionormativity:

Seeing social model as inherently better; Fictional sapient species being predominantly social, real-life solitary species of animal being demonized / treated as less developed or unimportant compared to social species.

Conflation of identity and community; I.e. "radqueers don't belong in the lgbtq community!" regardless of if radqueer individual in question is transgender/gay/identity that is considered to be LGBTQ, therefore making the statement invalid.

Deviation is diagnosis; Low/no empaty and asocial individuals considered disordered rather than natural species diversity.
