So I had top surgery a week and a half ago (thank you so so much for everyone who prayed for me--I felt the effects and it really was much appreciated). I think if it was winter, I could just wear a sweater and nobody would really notice and it would be a gradual enough reveal/change that it wouldn't be a big deal at all. But as it is, I'm still binding post-surgery for another couple weeks which makes it even more incredibly obvious when I wear anything lightweight enough to be comfortable. And the bishopric in my YSA ward was changed a couple months ago and our new bishop seems way less chill, more judgemental, and more queerphobic and misogynistic than our last bishop (who was soft and quiet and kind and oh boy I didn't think I'd miss him this much) and also just generally much more likely to say something about stuff that's none of his business. And so I'm very anxious about going back to church. I hate that I'm anxious about it or that I'm even avoiding church because of a thing I did based solidly in personal revelation, which I otherwise feel great about. But here we are. If anyone has suggestions, I would be happy to listen, but mostly, I'm just complaining.
