I find myself re-watching Young Justice lately. Such a great show, so entertaining, so clever in its worldbuilding, and something to seriously learn from.

I was so sad when Garfield and Perdita broke up in season 4. I get why it happened, but it's still sad. I know there was a comic released post-season 4 (Targets) that still had them broken up, but it seemed rather...meh.

But since the show was basically cancelled, you know what I say? I say that maybe, somehow, the two of them got back together. Why not? I can dream. And hey, if you're writing fanfic, you can make it work.

Queen and Assassin

Queen Perdita x Danny Fenton a student of Deathstroke story Deathstroke would be like finally a worthy heir, i taught him all i know. Time for his first solo mission. The story of the "Foolish Assassin who fell in love with his Target" (had that idea as i read a manga) starts that moment as they meet.

Deathstroke:"He broke the most important RULE!!" Ra's:" You forgot to tell him about that rule."

As background bonus, No idea why but i can see Deathstroke being a Asshole to Vertigo. Count Deathstroke who insult Werner Vertigo.

This is in no way Gar/Perdita criticism because, while they don't exactly pull at my heartstrings, I literally have nothing against the pairing or its shippers. Maybe Perdita doesn't have much characterisation aside from being Queen and Gar's (ex) girlfriend—that I have seen of, I must admit I don't watch the show as actively as others or even as I did back in the first two seasons—, but I in no way dislike her.

I just think it'd be interesting to see the two interact under the show's more serious circumstances where Gar is allowed to be goofy and chill but also has a lot of emotional baggage to deal with. Not to mention Raven's an empath with her own fair share of issues *cough, demonic daddy issues, cough, cough!*—I just think that'd make their interactions and way to relating to each deeper and more meaningful.

And, let's face it, Raven's character has enough lore to fit in about any Teen Titans/Sidekick/Young Heroes focused DC show. And it's about damn time these kids (yeah, I know they're in their late teens to early-mid adulthood now—I don't care; they'll always be our kids) faced their very first apocalypse in the classical sense of the word ;)

But seriously, this is pretty much wistful thinking. If the sneak peeks from Targets are anything to go by, Gar will be getting back together with Perdita at some point. And honestly, good for them.
