DC villain headshots by Craig Rousseau. This is part of an ongoing project.
You know what the problem with the young justice TV show is beyond the time skips? Its establishing banger potential plots and doing nothing about it.
I was rewatching and it hit me, where did match go? The failed superman clone. There was a 10/10 episode of conner going solo and coming to terms with his existence, they set out a brand new charecter that could have led into a PHENOMENONAL arch of superman-superboy team up, confrontation of Luthor ect ect. He'll if not that The Light could use match as a weapon, a decoy for conner ect ect. He shows up once and dips.
And its not just this one thing. So many banger villians they just let go afyer an episode. INJUSTICE LEAGUE. They establish some of the most iconic gotham villians, have an opportunity to do a whole gotham arch with them and no nothing they j got sent back to arkham sorry π€·π»ββοΈ. These arent even unknown villians or anything, Joker, Ivy, Black adam all established villians in media especially the gotham rogues gallery. And its not like the show isnt gotham centric, nightwing, robin, batgirl, orphan all gotham based vigilantes who could've very easily gotten a gotham arch in the show.
And yk who i miss most? HARM. One episode. One banger 10000/10 episode where 2 friends team up and have the biggest adventure. They could've done so much with him it genuinely hurts. And these are all rouges I thought of off the top of my head I havent even gotten to the disrespect that is skipping over jason Todd.
Favourite Disabled Character: Round One Match Twenty-Nine of Thirty-Two
Cassandra Cain (Batgirl/Black Bat/Orphan) - language processing disorder
Werner Zytle (Count Vertigo) - d/Deaf
Was Count Vertigo ever a hero? I feel like I read a story where he was the good guy.
Sort of. Vertigo was a central player in John Ostrander's seminal run writing Suicide Squad. It was clear that Ostrander and co-writer Kim Yale were quite fond of Vertigo and gave him a lot of excellent scenes.
Count Vertigo wasn't exactly a hero in the traditional sense in these stories, rather more of a main character/antihero. Vertigo suffered from pretty severe depression in these comics and Ostrander and Yale did a fantastic job exploring his struggles.
Luke McDonnellΒ provided the pencils for many of these issues. He gave Vertigo a more chiseled and handsome appearance which likely contributed to his coming across as a more traditional comic book good guy.
