It was the night of a crescent moon when a silhouette entered the small shop. Her hood over her head, the figure seemed to want to retain a degree of spookiness and yet failed to as the moonlight shone onto the curved horns on the side of her head. Perhaps a lightning strike would fit the mood, but the sky was as clear as it could be. Even if there was a month away from the human celebration of what was known as Halloween, she felt like she should get in the mood of the holiday spirit. She was here today to confirm her purchase on a program, though the definition remained vague. Was it an actual computer program, or just a definition of something done in service of another?
Turns out, it seemed to be both, when she handed the boonbucks, twelve in total, to the shopkeeper, they had held up a device and asked if there were any options to add.
“What options are there?” She asked, which made the shopkeeper wave over an array of puppets. The first was a marionette, strings attached to its limbs, floating in the air in an unnatural fashion with a crooked neck. She shook her head with that option. “No. I think I had enough rigidity in my lifetime.“
The second option was more to her liking: a simple puppet full of cotton, though it seemed to be missing legs. A closer look showed that it was a hand puppet, and it was there that she pointed at it for an option.
"Large or small?” She repeated what the shopkeeper said next, frowning. Now that was a tough choice. “I’ll go with small."
With that, the shopkeeper pressed few more buttons and went away, leaving the maroonblood to wonder if that was the entire ordeal.
It was not.
An itchy sensation began to crawl all over her skin as she shuddered, blinking, or attempting to, only to realize that she could not. Her body simply refused to move as her smooth, gray skin began to knit together, forming a series of perpendicular threads on her body. At the same time, she began to shrink, smaller and smaller as the room seemed to get larger and larger, and before long, she was already looking up at the counter. Then she toppled backwards, suddenly losing the sensation of her legs as they fused together, losing defined shapes, and began to move into her torso, and she wanted to groan: the sensation was too eerie, blissful and yet painful. She would have seen a large gaping hole, but she could not. Instead, she toppled, a small smile on her face as she gazed upwards into the ceiling.
A small yet realistic, Aradia hand puppet now laid on the floor. The shopkeeper had finally come back, and Aradia simply stared back at them as they slid their hand underneath her, the sensation coming back to her as she felt… alive again, and she was moving, though not of her own volition as her hands moved in perfect motion, and she felt her throat giving a small giggle, impossibly complex movements for hands to make. How they were doing this, she had no idea, or perhaps it was her current situation that made her so easy to manipulate her current state of being.
Hung over a shelf as she stared down at the store, given a bird’s eye view as she saw customers come and go, waiting to be picked up and purchased, and only for the price of 8 bookbucks.
i suffer from puppet disease. somtimes randomly a sadistic ghost will puppet my body to do things i dont really agree with necessarily. my close friends know to just ignore me when its happening. im very grateful for that. the medical establishment calls it """tourette syndrome""" but we all know im actually part-puppet.
im older now & im on strong anti-ghost medication so i dont get puppeted very much anymore. mostly just when im stressed becuz the sadistic ghost knows im spiritually weaker when im stressed & thus easier to puppet. i guess the sadistic ghost is gettin old too. somtimes i wonder who else she puppets?
somtimes strangers go "oh ur part-puppet???? i wish i was part puppet. do u get puppeted while ur asleep???? do u get puppeted during sex?????" and i just roll my eyes.
first of all, i hav puppet rage meltdowns in my dreams somtimes, but no i dont get puppeted while im asleep. second of all, iv never had sex, iv been sexually harassed a few times tho. realistically i think i wuld prefer to snuggle with another trans lady (such as my queer partner cassidy) rather than hav sex with anyone. not sure tho.
if u wonder what its like to hav puppet disease, well, youd hav to specify do u mean NOW, or back when it was really bad? becuz back then, i could barely walk or talk. i was gettin puppeted constantly. tears wuld fall from my eyes while i was focused super hard on doing these stupid puppet dances becuz i culdnt stop even tho i was exhausted. im glad those days are over.
nowadays some ppl dont even believe im part-puppet. then i start making noises or moving weird and theyr like "oh, okay"..... guess my puppet performance is all for u, huh?

What a rush to move
Not just of my own accord
What a rush to be
Pulled along on wire thin strings
Tis a privilege
To feel this giddy throat-clench
To dance your warm dreamlike waltz
