somtimes u dont HAV a choice becuz ur rage meltdowns are a symptom of ur tourettes & so u just hav to go to therapy & take multiple antipsychotics and isolate urself at home 80% of the time and hope u dont tackle a stranger or punch a loved one for no reason.

It has some genuinely fascinating stuff to say about gender, and I feel like it's worth looking at/thinking about in the context of Historical Gender Stuff. This 100 year old book has the following to say:

"The truth is that some young gentlemen would rather they had been born young ladies: they cannot admit this openly, because in the male world to confess as much would lead to instant ostracism if not worse; but they cannot conceal it either, and by preferring the company of girls, and soft, feminine clothing, and by flinching during the rough pursuits to which all boys, willing or no, are occasionally heirs, they attract opprobrium."

"Such boys weep too readily for their fellows' tastes - weeping is a great crime among boys unless it is generally admitted that circumstances left little choice - and are hounded for that reason."

"Just as there are girls who had rather been boys - we all know examples of the type - there are boys who, in a kinder world, would have been born into the gender more suited to their dispositions."

"Many young people of this sort are riven with a guilt they do not deserve but have been forced, by the conventions of society, to adopt; they are confused, ashamed and thoroughly unhappy."

"The ideal thing to do would be to treat these cases on their merits, send them to girls' schools, and so on. (The same thing should happen with those girls who would rather be young gentlemen.) Boys of this sort are girls in any case-in all respects save one."

thought about this because it's so frustrating when people argue that 'dying in childbirth' is a historical sort of event that doesn't happen nowadays (false) and therefore is irrelevant to the legal status of abortion, since it's not a real danger.

except it super is, and i think a lot of people haven't noticed that this argument in addition to simply being incorrect is basically the same as when people say we don't need vaccines for deadly diseases because no one gets those now anyway.

The 400-page proposed regulation would codify the administration's anti-trans executive orders into binding federal policy, imposing a blanket prohibition on federal funds going toward "gender ideology"

The proposed rule, formally titled "Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance," rewrites the government-wide framework governing all federal grants across every agency. Among its most consequential provisions, it requires that before a federal grant recipient can receive money, the award must pass a "pre-issuance review" conducted by a political appointee—not a career expert or peer reviewer—to ensure it is "consistent with applicable law, Federal agency priorities, and the national interest." The regulation explicitly instructs these appointees to screen for "denial by the recipient of the sex binary in humans or the notion that sex is a chosen or mutable characteristic." [...] An institution that acknowledges transgender people exist—through its policies, its training, its healthcare, its bathroom access, its HR procedures, its name-change processes—could be deemed to "deny the sex binary" or to “support the notion that sex is mutable” and have its federal funding blocked.

i was petting him while he was sleeping and. my hands were....... bloody?

turns out when the vet clinic put a heating bag on toby after the surgery, it ripped open and the heating oatmeal got on tobys skin & boiled his flesh open.

the vet clinic put toby back together.

they offered us like..... 3000 dollars in credit or somthing.

we didnt know any other vet clinics as big & fancy as that one.

so.... we kept using that vet clinic for our veterinary needs for like 20 more years.

20 yrs later, we had a dog named cassie. she was gettin kinda slow. the vet clinic was gettin more expensive (the credit was gone by now).

we decided to switch vet clinics.

new vet clinic was smaller. cheaper. they looked thru cassies history. did a checkup on her.

"cassie should be on kidney support dogfood, not regular dogfood. we sell it here."

after feeding cassie the new dog food it was like she was a puppy again. she lived to 13 or 14.
