BOOK REVIEW 🇬🇧📚 I recently finished reading “Princess of Thorns” by Saga Hillbom @writing_history - About the content: Princess Cecily of York is born as the daughter of the English King Edward IV and his wife Elizabeth Woodville during the Wars of the Roses. As an English princess, she grows up sheltered in magnificent castles until her father dies. What follows are further political (and family) entanglements, a longer stay in Westminster Abbey and various men on the English throne. Cecily is deeply connected to the House of York, as she comes from this line. However, when Henry Tudor, a nobleman from the House of Lancaster, claims the English throne and Cecily’s sister becomes Queen of England at his side, she finds herself in a conflict. 👑 - My Opinion: The writing style of this novel was the first to cast its spell on me! ✨ The last English-language novel I read had initially deterred me from reading the next one soon, but this book has convinced me of the complete opposite again. The prologue is told from the point of view of Richard III (not yet Richard III at the time), the rest of the novel from the point of view of Cecily of York. I loved how the historical events and the conflicted emotions of Cecily were linked together. While I don’t share all of Cecily’s opinions myself, they all perfectly suited her character and circumstances. Her figure was perfectly round for me! 👸🏻 - Recommendation: Definitely! This historical novel deserves a lot more attention, in my opinion. 📖❤️ - Rating: 5/5 🌟 https://www.instagram.com/p/CP05D4WLGcz/?utm_medium=tumblr
