In large shell: Virginia plantain seed heads, once I remove them from the seeds they can be sprinkled on food for extra fiber, and bracted plantain—the bracts have no nutritional value but I think they would be aesthetically pleasing in potpourri and with their bottlebrush shape would be excellent in cleansing magic.
In the small shell: a mixture if Virginia plantain and and bracted plantain roots, high in tannins for astringent purposes.
In the jar: a mixture of Ribwort plantain, Virginia plantain, and bracted plantain leaves.

The preserving season has begun- small batch rhubarb jam with vanilla bean. I had just enough rhubarb in my garden to make one recipe without heading to the store, which feels good. Not the prettiest, but it tastes good. My garden has returned! I have homemade jam for my toast again!
Native Black Cherry
I found the most immense quantity of low hanging native black cherries this morning that I have ever seen! I am very much hoping that they will ripen in time for me to celebrate midsummer again this year with wild fermented black cherry cordial combined with elderflower syrup. 🤤
