Passover un-seder
Remembering one of my favorite Passover seders from last year, gathered with family and friends @tendue to break homemade matzo and share in the ritual of Passover. We put on our first plant-based, low waste seder, offering up a new tradition for those who had and had not take part before. Something different. We built on past practices to create new traditions, infused with our own meaning. The same is true for 2020. We adapt practices to endure. We create new rituals for resiliency.
This year, we light whatever candles we have on hand (birthday or otherwise), we dip greens of any kind for our bitter herb, and we make matzo over video chat, together, to share in that experience. It’s a recognition of our past, in our new present. This act matters.
This year in quarantine, next year, together.
These beautiful photos were taken during our dinner last year by the wildly talented Skye McNeil. The radically inclusive Haggadah is written by Thursday Bram and available for download at http://haggadahofourown.com/ <3
How are y’all celebrating Passover this year??#closedloopcooking
