Recently, I got to join a bunch of fun Bay Area foodies for lunch at Far East Café in the heart of San Francisco’s Chinatown! Far East Café is one of Chinatown’s oldest restaurants, dating back to 1920, with beautiful vintage details like antique lanterns and Oriental paintings adorning the walls, and boasts a clientele of both locals and tourists there to chow down on yummy Cantonese cuisine. We made sure our tasting plates for the mini-lecture we presented on Monday at UC Berkeley looked like petri dishes. We talked about fermentation and how we consider fermented products we use a fundamental building block for our cuisine. Long live yogurt! We get very academic in some of our discussions around our food at our meals. Well, @haileyleyy discovered this and put us in front of bright food lovers taking a class at their incredible school.
