Humble Bodies
If you never meant to stay,
You could have just said me that,
And if I could gather some courage,
I could have just said what I wanted to say.
But things would have been too simple then.
So I just kept dreaming,
I simply kept dreaming.
Not a villain and definitely not a hero,
But what a character you've been to me,
Even now as we bid each other adieu,
I'm not bitter neither am I mad,
After all, you wove me the courage to let my past woes go.
You let me know that I was my own foe,
A thank you might never be enough,
And nor could I say it to your face,
Hoping things would get better will make me a fool,
And now I feel, not saying anything would suffice.
