so, yesterday?, i saw that someone was complaining about the whiteness in the magicians and doing some comparison to harry potter or something etc and being racist [i dont remember sorry]

God fuck. Its so weird being in a family of POCs where proximity to whiteness is congratulated and the ONLY acceptable way of life. My entire family pushes each other to marry white people and live in suburbia. Its horrifying. And then those of us that don't subscribe to this lie, are out casted, called ghetto, trashy etc.

One of the best parts of being mixed-race is the look on a person’s face when after they’ve been trying to figure out what kind of Asian I am or making vaguely racist remarks about how Asian I act, I look them dead in the face and say, “I’m Puerto Rican.”

Okay legit question, how is wanting to know your ethnicity an uncomfortable question? Like, if we’re both in america, and you’re clearly not caucasian american or african american, then I’m asking you that questions because I want to start a conversation and/or know a little more about you.
