The thing is that I literally will pay for convenience. I often buy songs on Bandcamp instead of pirating. I like to buy games from itch.io. But if your software is so bloated and unoptimised that my laptop can't run it without overheating and slowing to 2 fps then that's not fucking convenient.

i might be missing something about what youre doing with your canon, but the official neopets lore is that the site isnt canon. so i dont see why you couldnt write off pbs as another non canon mechanism made for neopets.com users to explore the possibilities of neopets lore. @jellyworldfuckingexists’s response is cool too—you could even make it a sort of morally dubious magic
oh yeah, my canon isn’t gonna line up with neopets lore canon- i want to work in a lot of the site lore, but i’ve kind of come up with some of my own rules and i like having a lot of the weird stuff about the site itself arbitrarily be canon.
it makes it more difficult, but it also allows me to try to work stuff that i find interesting about how ‘Neopets: The Game’ works into ‘Neopets: The Lore’, which i think is kind of fun
