I am so ready to move.
We were on a freedom walk and some guy brought his βpetβ pig to the field at our apartment complex. We live in the middle of a large city. This wasnβt just a stocky pot-bellied pig. This thing was easily 300+ lbs and the size of an industrial AC unit (as shown in this long distance picture).
I have a lot of experience with pigs. Iβve also been a vegetarian since I was 7 yrs old and have advocated for them. That being said, I consider pigs to be one of the most dangerous animals on the planet.
Iβve seen hand raised pigs corner and eat other animals alive. They can easily maim or kill dogs and a family friend had his 3 year old killed (and partially eaten) by domesticated pigs. I donβt care how βtameβ your pet pig is, if they feel threatened they can do a lot of damage to people/pets and they arenβt easy to stop once they get going.
The neighboring apartment doesnβt allow pets at all. Iβm not sure if he is claiming it as an emotional support animal or just keeping it a secret (hence why he brought it to our apartments to βplay & pottyβ). He didnβt have it in a harness/leash or anything. I am glad I carry a stun gun but I doubt it would have had any affect had I not retreated immediately and things got nasty.
So yeah, just another reason why we are moving in a few months.
