I feel like for as much as the conflict between radskier & jaskier staying with geralt is genuinely a fascinating storyline and conflict for jaskier's character arc (choosing a safe(ish) life with a lover or a perilous life with his chosen family) and deliciously tragic doomed yaoi. it also feels like a response to how s1 effectively had a sort-of love triangle with geralt yennefer and jaskier but then everyone just went "lmao no the exes unionize and then when geralt apologizes they all just make an ot3 #geraskefer". like now they have jaskier making a definitive and irrevocable choice between geralt and radovid and they're going "okay lets. lets try this again and make it actually impossible to choose both this time. ot3-proof it."
