you ever think about all might being a knight for prince izuku
I actually haven't before !! Not exactly anyway; I do have an idea rattling around in my head about Toshi shortening the "prince of nonsense" nickname to just fondly calling him "my prince" when Izuku is going off on a tangent about something, which always makes him blush bright red and completely forget what he was saying
But! An actual knight and prince AU would be really cute, especially if set in the fantasy world from the third ending.
Toshi would take his duty to Izuku seriously from the time he's born on principle. But as he watches him grow into such a humble, honorable, compassionate young man, that devotion becomes more personal.
Izuku, of course, admires Toshi from a very young age, and almost can't believe such an amazing person would be so dedicated to him. I think his low self esteem would convince him that Toshi is just fulfilling his duty as a knight, nothing more.
Cue lots of pining, and stolen glances, and both parties wanting more but not feeling worthy enough of the other person's affection. Toshi because he's an aging man who probably should have retired years ago, and Izuku is his prince. Izuku because he hates that he feels so physically helpless and because Toshi has to endanger himself for him.
But then Toshi gets his injury while protecting Izuku, and it nearly kills him. Izuku feels terrible about it, cries and apologizes to Toshi at his bedside while he recovers, that he has to suffer because Izuku can't defend himself. At which point Toshi cups his cheek and reassures him he was happy to do it, that he would give his life to save Izuku's if necessary. That if Izuku were to die, then he would surely follow, because he can't imagine going on in the world without him, knowing he had failed him. And finally Izuku understands that Toshi isn't his personal guard out of obligation, but out of love.
Ahhh thank you for the ask, this is a really sweet dynamic for them 🥺
