Let me introduce Arjin "Nibbles" Boots. He's been with me now for soon three weeks. Slowly getting used to me. He's a really special little guy. Always happy. Popping about the cage, his eyes shining with playfulness. Always ready to get a good treat. We've gone very slowly forward. Haven't taken him out of the cage or nothing like that. He's still very skittish (I mean obviously). Letting him get used to my sounds and me moving about. We train a little every day. He takes food from my fingers and as long as I don't move my hand he comes up onto it no problem. Which is incredible. Took Ceph about half a year before he did that. Arjin have started coming up to eat breakfast with me in the mornings. And I've pushed the cage over to my desk so he can come and go as he please when I'm around. He really enjoys his little explory adventures on the desk. He's such a brave and curious little guy. Happy all the time. Just excited, whatever we do. But very careful. Ready to bolt and hide if I move too fast. But that's okay. I'm just happy to have a little friend around again. It is time! Tomorrow a new little buddy will move in. It's been almost a year since Ceph passed and I think I'm ready for a new friend. I still miss him a lot. He was the best mos. But...
