Could you please give your view on the idea of judging vs. perceiving? I never really see that around on Tumblr.
Broad topic, isn’t it? What do you mean?
Judging vs. Perceiving functions?
Judging vs. Perceiving types?
Perceiving functions collect information. Judging functions decide what to do with those perceptions. They judge it, according to either impersonal (Xe) or personal (Xi) emotions / logic.
Judging types in MBTI are those with extroverted judging functions – Fe/Te (FJ, TJ). Perceiving types are those with extroverted perceiving functions – Se/Ne (NP, SP).
Technically, however, the real “judging types” should be the judging dominants – EJs and IPs – and the perceiving types should be perceiving dominants – IJs and EPs. Why?
EJs and IPs have judgment before perception. Fe/Fi/Te/Ti first.
IJs and EPs have perception before judgment. Ne/Ni/Se/Si first.
That’s all I have to say.
