ESFP or ISFP?
I’ve read 16 Types of Crazy and was able to narrow down my possible type to the xSFPs. The Fi chapter was eerily spot on, and some of the Se chapter also really hit home. But I’m unsure wheter I’m ESFP or ISFP. I’m definitely more passive (in the sense of not physically active) and generally have low stamina so ESFP doesn’t quite fit, I don’t feel the need to be on the go and I’m always regulating my energy expenditure (I’m also sp first so there’s that). I’m always saving energy for my personal interests whoa re intellectual. I’m not the type to jump into situations without knowing what I’m getting myself into.
On the other hand I’m not sure I “qualify” to be ISFP because while I’m hyper aware and responsive to my emotions I don’t tend to analyze them and I’m not introspective. When I go inside is to analyze what is happening and where things are going, who people really are or the meaning of things. I analyze others a lot, but rarely myself. Maybe that’s why it took me so long to come to a conclusions bout my type, because I relied on external sources and other people’s opinions about me to allocate myself in the system.
What’s a tie breaker between ESFP and ISFP?
ISFP and probably a 9 core (regulating energetic output) sounds correct.
Hyper-analysis and internal self-checking is a 6 + Fi thing in my experience (and usually more of an NFP trait). Overall, you sound more FiSe than SeFi in terms of internal analysis and tertiary Ni (where things are going, who people really are, the meaning of things). :)
当我又闲得慌去测了一下mbti之后:
Wow,从ISTP变ISFP了
Couple of questions: 1>What are the defining traits of high Fi, like what makes an FP an FP? 2 >How does tertiary Ni show up in ISxPs? 3>What's a 9w8 ISFP like?
(Obviously, my book answers all of these questions in depth. 16 Kinds of Crazy. Read it if you can afford it.)
FP = being true to who I am and not allowing other people’s opinions to sway my personal judgments, even if it would be more “logical” not to do this. Constant self-examination in terms of “what does thi say about me, who am I, am I for or against this, and if I am for this, what kind of a person does that make me, does it align with my inner values?” It is “no-go” zones that no one is able to change or argue with, because of the subjective moral judgments involved. Caring about people and their emotional state, but not being in tune with them and aware of being a separate person with dissimilar experiences (no emotional experience is the same; I can relate to you sometimes, but we are not the same in our feelings).
Tert-Ni: negativity under stress, worst case scenario anticipation (ONE bad outcome, and it’s specific), combined with “hunches,” “gut feelings,” “I just know this is going to happen.” Harry Potter is actually a really good physical example of this; he “knows” things without knowing how he knows them, such as Draco having become a Death Eater. Everyone scoffs at him, but he is certain of it, and it is proven later that he is correct.
I talked about IFP 9w8s recently, so it should be in a fairly recent tag. It’s not a lot different from INFP 9w8 except it’s FiSe (feelings lead to direct and immediate physical activities) instead of FiNe (dreaming and conceptualizing and speculating).
What are the differences between ISFPs and INFPs? And how does 9 influence Se vs Si users?
FiSe wants to act on what it feels and to get their body involved (I love you, I am ready to make love to you, why should we wait when today is all we have?); FiNe prefers to idealize and romanticize (I love you, let me write you a poem and express myself through beautiful words, or find something to represent our love).
9 + Se: self-soothing through being physical and living in the moment (music, artwork, creativity, self-expression vs. "I feel down, this substance will take away my pain"). 9 + Si: self-soothing through seeking out what is familiar and pleasurable and repeating experiences or motions (I love to knit, sew, dance, do these things, bake my grandma's cookies, things that tie me to my past).

Aria Montgomery, her in season 1 of pretty little liars was that girl. However, lots of people say she had a downfall. Why? Because the writers made her care about her bf more than her friends.
Well, the writers did make her relationship a huge aspect of her character, that isn’t the only remarkable thing about Aria.
Aria Montgomery is a classic ISFP. She is a Fi dom, which means she has introverted feeling in her stack the highest. Which tells us Aria is authentic and stays true to herself. Whereas Hanna is an ESFP, Emily a ISFJ, Spencer an ENTJ, and Alison an ENFJ. Aria is compassionate, secretive, impulsive, and empathetic but doesn’t change herself to please others. This is shown when Alison asks the liars to lie so Cece would be released from Radley. Everyone lied expect Aria, this shows that even though Alison is her friend, Aria would rather stay true to herself then lie. Huge example of Fi doms. But everyone regardless of mbti, should do this. Being yourself is beautiful. People will hate you no matter what, so just be yourself.
What are the struggles of those with inferior Te?
Knowing how much time and effort a project will take and being able to finish it in a timely manner, not seeing outside structure as limiting or being annoyed by it, giving up when something isn't working the way it should, struggling to create a structure for yourself or external projects, not being able to separate how you feel from the logic of the situation (my feelings override the facts or limits of the situation).
