The physics of a pendulum wave
A pendulum wave demo of independent simple harmonic oscillators.
Each pendulum oscillates with its own period, T = 2Ļ ā(L/g), where L represents the string's length and g denotes gravity. The lengths are meticulously selected such that their frequencies maintain small-integer ratios.
As they gradually desynchronize, the resulting phase differences generate the captivating "wave" illusion you observe. Ultimately, they realign after approximately two to three minutes. It's a classic physics demonstration!
