Why I always feel so lonely on my birthday...
okay, maybe this is just because I was super isolated as a kid and didn't have many friends growing up-
but wow I did not realize how... physically affectionate most people are once you become friends with them? Like, all of my friends do side hugs or full hugs for greetings and/or goodbyes, even when we only talk for a few minutes
which like, is wild to my chronically isolated and touch adverse self. I have to keep reminding myself that casual shows of affection between friends are Normal Actually™️ and not something specifically reserved for family or super close friends
