Ah alas I missed the anniversary, but here’s some new doodles of the girls who started the whole Canon Descendants project!

ive seen people recently complaining about the charlotte la bouf scene at the end of the princess and the frog where she’s with the kid and she says “welp! ive waited this long!” and i think the west is super overthinking it honestly

i grew up in america but im honestly still really close to my culture and over here, child sexualiztion doesn’t even CROSS OUR MINDS. you have the creeps of course, but their always bashed you know? we do a lot of “weird” stuff to westerners that’s normal and familial to us otherwise, and I would definitely say it’s similar for wherever the fuck they live again cause I forgot

community and culture is family here, of course there’s your real family and culture, but it’s extremely tight knit and everybody trusts each other a healthy amount

to me it felt like a completely normal joke, a teen girl playin with a kid? I don’t like to make the weird “oh it’s only weird cause you view it like that🤓” argument but i think in this case it absolutely is, she obviously had no romantic interest and she is basically the kids inlaw, look at her entire body language because it isn’t shy or anything, she’s obviously playful and everything conveys something familial, she literally lifts him up in the air like an auntie playing with a baby!?

i didn’t take it as “I’ll wait for you” I saw it as “I waited this long to dance with a prince”

and I know dancing with someone can be platonic to in America, with daddy daughter dances and what not, and it’s normal for kids do stuff like the 12step dance with their parents while their young because their still..babies, and it’s not any of our cultural dances, therefore it’s translated into something more wholesome, I know I’ve done it

Summary:
