Hello! Just two quick questions: 1. where do you take the uncredited art from? You post uncredited images very rarely, so I assume it's always when you really can't determine the artist, but then I'm curious where you find the image. 2. I noticed the "tags" link isn't there on your page anymore (I think it was before), even though the page still exists. Any particular reason for it? Do you maybe plan to remake it? Lastly: I love your work, thank you for sharing this amazing collection!
Wow, great questions! You definitely know what you’re talking about, thanks for writing.
For the uncredited art question: Lots of places, really. I try to link to the source I found it on, even if there’s no info about the artist. Amazon, Ebay, Pinterest, or Reddit are pretty common sources. (The other place I usually link to is ISFDB.org -- I never find the actual image there, but it has more info about the cover art) A lot of retro sci-fi books didn’t credit the artist at all, which is why I sometimes can’t.
That said, I do post a fair amount of uncredited art with no links, and it’s almost entirely art that I once saved five or six years ago, and a reverse image search on Google doesn’t turn up any more info for. So, even I don’t know what the original sources were for those -- maybe an old Flickr page that vanished years ago.
About the tags page: You’re right! I used to link to that, and I stopped mostly just because I didn’t want to have too many links on my homepage. I kept it live in case anyone out there was still using it.
