About how big can sheevra be? Initially I imagined my dryad's true form to be around seven to eight feet tall, with limbs long and gangly enough for them to be mistaken for a tree if hiding in a forest.
...and then their natural form barely reaches 5'0.
I'd say seven or eight feet would be the max for the MC (and probably most sheevra in general)! For them and High Sheevra in particular, I imagine the forms are relatively within human/mortalis range. Sirin for example, is just above 7 feet with the added few inches of their horns, and about 6'4" in their mortalis form. They and Atra are the tallest among the High Sheevra.
But also I love the idea of being mistaken for a tree, that's such a lovely description and I am full chinhands over that image haha. And of course love the dueling tall king/queen/monarch, short king/queen/monarch energy 😌asfjalj
Thank you for the ask! ❤️
yeah yeah and let him die.

One thing I noticed, having played ln2 for the first time a few days ago is that the adults in it feel more like aliens who don't know how humans act but are trying very hard to pretend to be like them, whereas in 1 they just felt like people who are weird. Especially The Teacher, who would just endlessly scribble on the board in dead silence like it saw a teacher do that one time but doesn't know the context.
going by stuff found in the hospital and art concepts whose influence can still be seen in the game, i feel like the disaster/disease that spread through Pale City parasitized the populace and just gradually reduced them into shells. there’s earlier designs of the teacher in particular with cordyceps imagery, something that was in a lot of concept art, where her head is partially shattered like the porcelain bullies we meet. which, combined, pushes this idea of something parasitizing everyone and there being parts of the City trying to work around it.
there was a lot of art for the hospital that depicted children as patients for example, including one that looks like ghost kid. and in that art, kids start having the wiry, cordyceps-like fungal lookin, growths rise from their heads and going upwards. people may better know parasitic fungi like cordyceps from another popular horror series, the last of us, wherein the zombie virus is transmitted via spores.
cordyceps is a family of parasitic fungi that, most commonly, infect the brain of their host and forces it to lose its self-defense instincts and directs it to go up to high locations so the fruiting body can emerge/it can have its host be eaten by another animal to enter its next phase to spread. there are moments still in ln2 that fit these behaviors, most seen with the Viewers.
anyways, back to the Teacher. there being a project based around educating porcelain dolls made to be like children combined with how the Doctor seems responsible for making face-masks like we see in ln1 could be hinting towards how, rather than solve the root issues, the population has instead focused on trying to make a new set of people that can ignore the problems/survive the symptoms of what’s plaguing them.
the Patients seem to have been put thru torture, hydrotherapy, lobotomy, and electroshock, to make them photophobic, possibly to try and make them resilient to the Broadcast. there being fake, new, children in place of real ones at the School could point towards a replacement effort, schools historically go hand in hand with industrialization and it wouldn’t be out of place for Tarsier to be making more meta commentary on how such an institution would destroy living kids for the sake of making empty obedient workers.
a lot of the things the characters do in ln2 seem like people who got really sick and are trying to ignore it to keep up a sense of normalcy, they cling to routines thoughtlessly. the Teacher scribbles nonsense, repetitively. the theme of ln2 is Escapism, and i think it could be said that Pale City feels like an entire landmark that has sunk into a depression and is trying to pretend it hasn’t while its people grow emptier.
