Love it when a queerphobe gets upset that people are shipping men in otome games 😂😂😂 like do they know that its mostly cis women who are fujoshis???? And queer people have been in otome spaces since the dawn of time. Cry more. Imagine getting upset that gay people exist. How miserable you must be...
Happy pride month!
What are your favorite friendship routes you wished just bit the bullet and turned queer?
Mine is the Queen of Hearts x Alice
(Before anyone says ANYTHING, otome games have had a queer subtext route even from the 1990s.)
I understand that Kiyohito is supposed to be a tsundere-type of character, but a lot of time he comes off as a bully. He often insults MC or makes comments about her appearance and femininity in a way that feels like he’s completely disregarding her already in a fragile and difficult situation. Her mental health feels like it comes second to her appearance in which weird considering she’s already is pretty attractive.
he can be blunt, jealous, and passive-aggressive. He also expects the MC to understand his feelings and how he expresses his love without clearly communicating them, which creates a weird relationship dynamic. Even when the story shows that he realizes he went too far, it doesn’t always fully address how hurtful his actions were in the moment.
Due to this, his tough love approach sometimes feels more like straight up trying to give the MC emotional distress than real care, even if he or the writers didn’t mean it that way. The MC’s growth also ends up focusing a lot on her appearance and confidence from others’ approval, instead of her emotional healing and independence.
