Otherwise, I would like to ask you a question about an image you once posted in 2020 concerning the character of Nagakura Shinpachi with a text written below:

I do apologize if I didn’t understand this picture, and that picture is simply meant to be a meme for laughter, but please do indulge me if I remember correctly, throughout the entire Hakuouki franchise, Shinpachi doesn’t have any children or grandchildren whatsoever with Chizuru or any other characters?

As far as I know, and if I am not mistaken, the only characters with whom Chizuru has children are:

- Harada Sanosuke, with whom she has a son named Shigeru (exactly like the son of the historical Harada Sanosuke).

- Saitou Hajime, with whom she became pregnant, as seen in his route in Ginsei no Shou.

- In Hijikata’s route from Hakuouki Remeiroku, it is hinted that she may be pregnant.

- On another note, Ibuki Ryuunosuke, the main protagonist of Reimeiroku, in Yamazaki's ending in Shinkai, he and Kosuzu become new parents.

I apologize if my question seems strange, but Nagakura Shinpachi is my favorite character in Hakuouki, and I wish to know every detail about him. Thank you for your attention, and please take care of yourself. I wish you a very good day.

Hi, thanks for your ask ! That old meme was based on Shinpachi’s actual historical self. He and Saito are the only ones confirmed to have survived the war (rumours about Harada, but only rumours and mostly debunked)

Shinpachi also wrote his memoirs, which is one of our biggest source of information about the Shinsengumi. Sadly, it’s not translated and I can’t read the original either.

So basically, the meme makes a joke about Shinpachi writing his memoirs and telling his grandchildren about the war, when he was drunk while most of it (so it’s also joking about Hakuouki Shinpachi being a party animal)

It mixes the fiction and reality and emphasis some parts to make the joke work.
