Kinect testing again.

So I’m doing some work with the XBox kinect Sensor and just tried to install the OpenKinect library on my Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2) and the latest version of XCode (Version 4.6). I followed the instructions here: http://openkinect.org/wiki/Getting_Started#OS_X

When I try to use HomeBrew to install the libfreenect library, I get the error below:

Following their manual install process gives the same error. I was able to get round this by making a change in the libusb patch file.

On line 34 of configure.ac, change AM_CONFIG_HEADER to AC_CONFIG_HEADERS.

That did the trick!

The ofxOpenNI module is a wrapper for the openNI + NITE + SensorKinect libraries/middleware for openFrameworks.

In a place so full of stereotypes and standard products like Barcelona's Ramblas, last january the guys from blablabLAB created a curious installation. With a mixture of different Open Source Softwares (like openFrameworks and Arduino) applied to three KINECT devices, these guys created very unique souvenirs, taking 3D pictures of tourists and printing these pretty yellow statues out of it. 

Nice idea and nice video to explain the concept, with simple and yet evocative graphics.
