Last night I had the worst nightmares so much violence and mayhem then I woke up to see that it is not so different from the reality because my day started by a video of Trump saying that we are not people we are animals and I say we since I am also a we because despite that I'm in Europe I'm still a refugee nonetheless I'm reminded of this fact every day here and being a refugee is relatively the same no matter where you are. later I was browsing through facebook and I had mixed emotions because, on the one hand, I was happy for a lot of my friends partying and enjoying their time whether here in Berlin or somewhere else, but on the other hand I was devastated by seeing my people getting attacked by the Greek police in Diavata for simply trying to get a better life by coming to western Europe because despite white supremacy and racism here it is still better than the alternative that is living on the streets in Greece. There was also other posts by white people telling those refugees who are being attacked with tear gas bombs in Diavata what to do when you are hit by tear gas, DO they not know where we come from? we survived wars and took lessons on dealing with tear gas and avoiding police capture we also learned how to try to survive an air strike, these children grew up on smelling tear gas and dead bodies. other posts were trying to stop these refugees from going to Diavata by warning them about the danger of trying to cross the borders. WE ARE FULLY AWARE OF THE DANGER but the desperation of these refugees living on the streets with their children will make them do anything looking for a better future for those children who knew only wars and camps. When we decide to come here we know how dangerous the journey is and what it will do to us physically and mentally but WE DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICE.
